    Lifesaver

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

Took this down to Vegas last weekend when the temperatures were reaching 118 ish during the day and some nights were still in the low 100's or high 90's after the sun had gone down. I was melting! Thankfully I had this wrapped around my face and head and as soon as it got a little sweat into the fabric, I could feel it almost turn into an ice pack. I am still astounded by how cold this felt!! Like Kyle mentioned, if this is scrunched up around your neck, it will not work as intended. This needs to be pulled across your skin to absorb sweat before it will start "cooling off."

    Pretty Cool indeed.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I liked this item but found it only worked best when stretched across your neck and face.

If you just let it clump up and sit around the bottom of your neck it won't keep you out of the sun , nor will it be able to do it's job and cool you down.

overall, awesome desert hiking/biking item. ( how I use it)

    This was a life saver!

Just finished a rim to rim to rim run in the Grand Canyon and wore this to keep cool in the heat of the day. I would get it wet at each water stop and it stayed damp for a really long time. The fabric stays cool but it doesn't add a lot of weight. I wore it over the top of my head like a bandana and it draped over my neck to keep me cool and also to keep the sun off my neck. I was really impressed with this and it made a huge difference in how I felt in the canyon.

    A must for sun exposure

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I not only buy and use these for warm weather excursion, I gift them to my favorite Captains and Crews in the Caribbean. I had one tell me his dermatologist congratulated him on using it. The fabric has a cooling effect and you can breath through it with ease. It is better than sunscreen.

    Perfect for fishing

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I got this for fishing in Utah and it's perfect for those hot sunny days. When you start sweating, or if you just wet it with river water, the cooling beads start working. It doesn't get frigid, but definitely cooler than a normal neck gaiter would be. Pair this with a Columbia fishing shirt with the same technology and your set to fish all summer in the west!
