The pockets on these actually aren't too bad..I was able to get my hands in past the knuckles..roughly 5 inches. Hope that helps ya out :)

Bought this board short for a trip to the virgin islands. Wore it kayaking, snorkeling, paddle boarding, and just lying around the beach. Did it's job in every situation.
I usually wear an 8/10 in shorts and pants but tend to have to size up for athletic wear. However, I initially ordered the L and had to return it for a M.....fits well for your regular size.
Only thing I miss is a zipper pocket
