When Friday afternoon rolls around, slide into the Columbia Men’s Firelane Mid Omni-Tech Hiking Shoe and make a beeline for the trailhead. Thanks to a mid cut and Omni-Tech waterproof breathable protection, this comfortable hiker is ideal for dayhikes and light multi-day trips. A Contour Comfort footbed and EVA midsole cushion your foot, while an internal shank provides torsional stiffness over rough terrain. The OmniGrip rubber outsole provides solid traction in any weather conditions.

Bottom Line: The weekend hiker’s dream.

Honestly, buy them according to your shoes you do the most athletic activities in. You'll find they're sized very true and are awesome shoes.

Rather narrow/low volume fit

By:

This boot (in regular/medium width) has a fairly narrow/low volume fit. It's light and very flexible, so comfortable but perhaps not the best choice for very rough terrain or carrying a heavy pack. Arch support is better than average. I use a Superfeet insole but this boot does come with a nice insole.

not waterproof

These shoes were disappointing because of the fact that within a month of using them, they were beginning to leak in water. Tried to give my shoes the benefit of the doubt by letting them dry out and tested them with a garden shower nozzle; they started to leak again after around 20 seconds. Fine for everything else Columbia says its for; just not so waterproof.
