When your day hike takes a turn to picking berries, the Columbia Women's Omni-dry Explorer Pant are up to the task. Tighten the pants' waist adjustments when your pockets get too full and heavy from a ton of berries. Don't think twice when you have to go through a small brook for a lush patch—you can hike the Explorer's adjustable legs up to your knees if need be. With Omni-Dry fabric and wicking capabilities, a few splashes and a bit of perspiration won't get in the way of your berry bonanza.
Bottom Line: The Columbia Women's Omni-Dry Explorer Pant won't let the little challenges get in your way.
Good hiking pant. Like the way they can be adjusted in length. Agree with other posts that they run slightly big & not much available in way of adjusting the waist. Sea Salt would be quite see through if they fit snug; no pantyline if they hang a bit loose. Suggest you order your regular size if you worry about that...panty line probably won't be an issue.
I wear a 4, a pretty solid 4, but there isn't anything pretty about wearing a pant that decides to become a 6 or 8 in the middle of a grueling hike. Thank goodness my husband didn't mind being behind me on the trail b/c I don't think the 3 other guys we were with would appreciate my pink panties quite as much.

I don't like seeing panty lines, so stay away from the Sea Salt color. I normally wear a size 2 in jeans, but size 4 fits fine. Long is a bit too long (I'm 5'6", and I like a 32" inseam, and the Long is about 34"). Pants are fine in other colors, but Sea Salt is too see-thru! Returns are hassle free--don't send for an exchange, instead order your replacements and send the merchandise back for a refund. That way you'll be sure to get what you want. Very easy to do using their website.
Caution, these run large. DONT size up. The waist/hip area is at least 3 inches bigger around than my other size 8 Columbias. The waist can only be cinched by a small amount--maybe an inch and a half total if you are aggressive about it. These actually fall off my body if I walk in them. On the plus side, the style is nice. Also the fabric is comfortable, not too thin, and the sea salt color is a nice option from Columbia which can usually only be found in green or fossil. Im Disappointed.
I ordered these pants and when they came they seemed great. The fabric has more of soft canvas feel than standard nylon pants. Great for intermediate and cool temperatures. The fit, however, does not match with Columbia's size chart. I had a size 6, which fit great through the hips but left a 4 inch gap at the waist (I'm a 27" waist, 37" hips). With no belt loops, there was so way for these to stay up. So I sadly returned them.
I ordered the pants to wear on a sailing trip from Ft. Lauderdale to the Bahamas early June. The fit was great, and I was very comfortable wearing the pants all day on the boat, ( mainly to keep the sun off the legs). I really enjoyed the fact that I could hike the pants up to the knee, and again they were quite comfortable. I am very satisfied for my purchase. I wear a size 12 and ordered a 12 and the fit was perfect.
I LOVE these pants. I have and love the Fossil. Others have said that the fit is off. It depends on body type. For me, I was surprised that I got into an 8 when I was a 10. I'm ordering another pair in a 4 now. I use mine more as an outdoor dress pant. They are smooth and lightweight.I agree that these do want to catch the fibers of some of my vests, so I keep a little lint roller in my bag, and when I get to work, I roll them off for the day. These pants are worth it!
Do not order these pants in sea salt unless you are purposely trying to show off your undies! They also are dirt magnets, so don't wear them if it is dusty or muddy outside.
As for the fit and feel of the pants, they fit wonderfully. I usually wear a 10 or 12, and I went with the 12. They fit perfectly, and are really quite comfortable. There are no belt loops but there is an elastic cinch which I find useful. I like the fabric a lot, but as I said, you should stay away from sea salt. I am going to order another pair in fossil or sage because I really love the pants.
The size is pretty acurate. I am a size four and that's what I ordered and it fits nicely- especially after washing them. They also have cinch straps at the back to make the waist smaller if need be.
