Do-It-All Shoe

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I've taken this shoe canoeing, wading, trail running, and to the office and it has worked effortlessly in each situation (might be too casual for some offices). No problems in mud, though the soles will melt if you keep them too close to a bonfire too long (now who would do that?). Lightweight, plenty of room to wiggle your toes, and a pretty cool design - these are great all-around shoes.

my son, wife and I all wear drainmakers after being recommended to us by a friend. they are very comfortable and serve us well on the river and off. the one down side is they can really get rank after a week or so but that happens with all of our water shoes so i do not hold that against Columbia!

we love em !

Great Shoe

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I got the platinum/sea colored shoe. They are super lightweight, extremely comfortable and look pretty cool. Shoes drain well, but my only complaint is that they do not dry as quickly as I would like. If its only warm out, it could take several hours to dry out. I was out in 100 degree, sunny weather where it took about 2 hours to dry completely. Would be great if they dried much quicker, otherwise I'm very pleased with these shoes.

Drainmakers

These shoes perform exactly as you would expect. They drain water as soon as you step on dry land. I wore them for the first time on a weekend floating/camping trip. I usually pack two pair of shoes, one to get wet and one to stay dry. I assumed since these shoes drained water I could lighten my pack and just wear the Columbias. I was wrong. Like I said the shoes drain water, BUT they do not dry out. You may not have a squishy shoe but it does stay damp. Don't get me wrong, I love the shoes and I will wear them until they fall apart, but I will continue to bring a pair of sandals for a dry pair of shoes. The shoes are comfortable and fit well. As far as sizing, a half size smaller than my Nike Shox was perfect. I guess this is because I do not wear socks with these shoes.
