The Columbia Men's Double Whammy Jacket packs a one-two punch of weather protection: Water-resistant material fends of light snow while synthetic insulation warms your core in freezing temps. When the wind picks up, cinch down the Columbia Double Whammy's removable storm hood, and keep on skiing. A goggle pocket ensures your lens doesn't get scratched, and a media pocket holds your tunes.
Bottom Line: Be warm and dry when you cruise the mountain slopes.

Is there another, warmer zip in lining available? I've had mine for a good 10 years now and find it just doesn't keep me warm anymore here in New England.
10 YEARS!!!!! May be time to treat yourself to a new parka! Ten years is a long time. I realize our products are awesome, but the technology has been upgraded so much in the past decade that you would be astounded on how much better we are now.If you still feel the need to just replace the inner liner I would recommend a softshell as they can be wind and water resistant where the standard fleece interchange is neither.Hope this helps!
Is this jacket good for winter weather in MD and NY I am looking for a jacket/Coat for the winter with a good lining either a Columbia or North Face and suggestions?
Yes, at least 10 years. It may be even more! I try to take care of my stuff. I think about 5 yeas ago I had the zipper replaced and was shocked to have it done for free. That alone made my respect for Columbia products even more....But for a new parka, I'll probably wait until next year or when the economy is a bit better and just wear a fleece or sweatshirt under the jacket. Thanks for you comments!
Hi, I am concerning about the temperature rate and the weight of this jacket. The average temperature in my region is around 20-30F. Could u provide the related information that would help me to make a decision quickly? Thank you.
Dear Johnny, I live in upstate New York and during the winter, the average temperature here is 15-30 degrees. I wore this jacket last season and it helped out a great deal. Your core stays warm and you don't have to worry about getting wet inside. I was never cold during the ski season and I tend to buy another one of these jackets this season. If I were you, I would consider buying this jacket.
This is one layer, it does not flip inside out. This is the cheapest columbia on the site, it is not the best. Far from goretex too. This is 3k waterproof. Technically if it is not 8k it cannot be called waterproof, so dont expect a lot out of this thing. Goretex is roughly 35k so just a bit better.
Jackets don't really get temperature ratings, since it's so dependent on how much you're moving, what you wear underneath, how warm you are naturally, etc, but on its own i'd say this jacket will keep you warm down to the 20s, and with layering well below zero.
