Windy, drizzly weather is no reason for your girl to stay cooped up inside. The Columbia Girls’ Cherry Pond Jacket uses a wind- and water-resistant fabric to cover your girl’s torso and head while she walks to a friend’s house. And this way, you’ll get a bit of peace and quiet while she and her buddy puddle-jump around the neighborhood.

Bottom Line: For non-sunny days.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

Yes. It does not have heavy insulation or anything and it is specifically made for rain protection.

Seems to work well

My 8 year old wore this camping this weekend. It did well in the drizzly weather, but I wonder if it will be adequate for heavier downpours. The hood can't be tightened around the face. The fabric is waterproof, which was tested during our rafting trip on the Nantahala. Her shirt stayed dried after 2 hours of splashing.

The only other downside is that the zipper was "broken" upon arrival. After some jiggling we were able to get it back on track, luckily.
