Columbia uses a dual-density waterproof leather upper to give the Bugabootres Men's Winter Boots solid weather protection with a flexible, nimble feel for hiking. These Columbia boots support your ankles on a week-long, winter hiking trip, but they don't feel like a pair of giant waffle stompers. Thinsulate insulation keeps your feet nice and warm when you go into the hills for some winter backpacking or snowshoeing. The Bugabootres Winter Boots' Omni-Tech outsoles provide excellent traction on hardpack snow and steep trails.

Bottom Line: Enjoy your time in the winter wilderness with your feet nice and warm in the Columbia Bugabootres Winter boots.

The Don Rickles boot - warm, but abrasive!

By:
December 12, 2009

I have no complaints about the warmth of these boots - having just worn them for an hour in minus 40C wind-chills - but the stiffness of the upper boot has worn painful welts into my leg and even given me some soreness in the bones!

Ceasing to use the upper lace hooks and wearing thicker socks didn't help, as it just feels like my feet are at the wrong angle in the boot. I have contacted the manufacturer.

More corporate cost cutting

It seems everything you buy these days breaks immediately or doesn't work as advertised. These boots are no exception. These boots are cold, they aren't even waterproof. Just another example of corporate corner cutting. I got these after returning Columbias Gore-tex winter hiker. These boot as aren't as cold as those, but they're still pretty bad, considering the cost. Don't do it.

Good boots !!

By:
February 18, 2008

The boots broke in fairly rapidly as, after about an hour, I wasn't even aware that I was wearing new boots.
Even after snowshoeing for 2 hours in sub-zero temperatures, my feet were warm & dry..

Look and feel good

The snow has not flown yet, but when my son tried them on, he loved them. We will see soon how the boots work in sub-zero weather.
