For winter storms around town, clunky, super-insulated boots can be overkill, but your feet still need protection. Next time the skies open up and unload big, fat snowflakes, pull the Columbia Women’s Bugaboot Omni-Tech Boots out of your closet, lace ’em up, and head outside. Columbia added Omni-Tech waterproof breathable membranes to these leather boots so you can tromp through snow and slush. Insulation warms your feet all the way to -25F, so “My toes get cold,” is no longer a valid excuse for staying indoors. AgION antimicrobial treatment on the internal lining and footbeds prevents stinkiness, and shock-absorbing midsoles with nylon shanks provide support. Omni-Grip rubber outsoles grab the ground, even when your driveway looks like an ice rink.
I found these boots highly comfortable and flattering. Even with a light weight wool sock my feet still stayed warm in below frezing temps. I splashed around in snowy slush to check the waterproofing and could not have been happier. My feet stayed perfectly dry despite stomping through ankle deep slush. They can be worn with jeans without having to tuck the jeans into the boot and are not at all bulky. I was really happy with this purchase and was honestly shocked they performed as well as they did for such a smaller profile snow boot. Also has really good traction. I bought my usual shoe size and found that I could still wear a thicker sock without being uncomfortable and a smaller sock without shifting around. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a comfortable, warm snow boot that works around town but isn't huge.

This is such a fantastic boot. I really wanted something functional for a Michigan winter, but I didn't expect to find a boot that is incredibly comfortable and (in my opinion) has VERY nice proportions and is aesthetically pleasing. I would absolutely recommend this boot to anyone toeing the line between comfort, functionality, and appearance. Also, I am happy to know that I purchased these boots from a company (Back Country) that is so interested in your long-term satisfaction. I felt confident in my purchase because the return policy is geared toward retaining loyal customers. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

This was a gift I purchased for my wife for Christmas. She is very happy with her gift. This is her second pair of Columbia boots and she has been happy with both.
i tried them on in the store, they seem a little wide (probably to account for heavy socks) I have a slightly wider than average foot, but not so much i need a wide width shoe. They might get a little wide for you. Maybe two sets of socks would be best for you.

Normally, I would have no use for boots like these since I live in Phoenix. I was going to the Netherlands for the Christmas/New Year's holidays, and needed a pair of snow boots, just in case. Good thing, because it ended up being a white Christmas where I was! These boots were great at keeping my feet warm and dry, even after a 3 mile hike through snow and slush. At first I ordered a 9.5, my usual size, but they were too snug. I went with a 10 instead and just wore them with two pairs of socks. Even in a 10 these boots didn't make my feel look too ginormous! They are comfortable to wear all day long. I put them through the test walking all day through Amsterdam and Utrecht, with no foot pain or blisters at the end of the day. I highly recommend these boots.
It is hard for me to say. These are pretty sleek winter boots compared to others on the market, but in general I would think the heavier winter boots could be tough to shift with.
I live in New England and the winters are snowy and cold. These boots are sooo warm and waterproof. My entire family is now wearing them and I will purchase more.
For snowshoeing, including off trail, in the Tahoe area with feet that tend to get cold, which would be better: Columbia Bugaboot or the Sorel Carabou?
It doesn't matter what brand you get if you wear ordinary cotton socks. They make 'boot socks' with insulate the feet much better. As far as the two brands go I really dont know what brand is better, but i'll be going with columbia because ive had good experiences with other produces the company makes. I've tried on the bugaboot in the store and i was really impressed by the fit and the tread. I've researched this boot and read many reviews and it was hard to find a negative comment. I hope this helps.
I bought a half size larger and can wear thick socks, though I would say they fit true to size. They are very warm and have kept my feet dry in the wettest of snow. They have kept me on my feet walking across ice as well, great traction. I would buy these again in a heartbeat!
I live in N.H. and I appreciate a warm, waterproof, comfortable boot that is aggressive enough to wear on the most slippery days and not have to worry about tip-toeing through the ice and snow. This is also a nice looking boot. Most of all it is comfortable on my slightly wide foot. I have a hard time finding a boot that does not crunch the toe width area and these are great fitting and perfect. The sizing seem right on, I am usually a 6 or 6.5 and the 6.5 is what got and it's perfect. I (almost) can't wait for next winter to wear them.
I bought these boots for my 11 yr. old daughter. They are true to size. She loves them because they keep her feet warm and are comfy to wear all day long. You won't go wrong with them.
