Columbia Benton Springs Full-Zip Fleece Jacket - Women's - 2007 BCS

Although there are already a lot of reviews for this jacket, I want to throw in my 2cents too. I currently own 2 of this jacket style and had to throw out one old one (I wore it several hundred times!). This jacket is great because of the generous fit, the classic look, and the warmth for the low price.

I bought one for my daughter last christmas to wear in Switzerland she said it was the most comfy and warm fleece ever. I liked the way it washed up so I bought one for myself and for a girl friend. My girl needs a new one as she has grown so much.Guess i'm hocked. Love the colour choice. Go columbia and backcountry!!

I use this as a sweater and it is very warm. It is over-sized to accommodate layering if needed.

Love these fleeces, they are really soft and comfy. Need an outer layer in cold weather. They are quite loose fitting but don't look too bulky because the fabric is so soft. You could maybe size down if you want a slimmer fit but only if you have reasonably narrow hips as the elastic around the hips might be a bit tight. Great value. Pity there aren't more colour options.

This fleece jacket is a great deal when it comes to prize+product! You may want to size down as they a bit loose fitting. However the fabric is so soft that it does not look bulky at all. The material is super warm, it washes well and looks great.

If you wear a NF Medium (I am 5'9" 130 lbs with long arms) A small would probably fit you better than a Medium if you like a litle closer fit and are only wearing a tee underneath or a light layer. This jacket is very good quality and I would pick this instead of NF if I had to if I wanted some really different colors of fleece for different outfits. It is similar in fit to the NF Pumori (Pumori being more fitted).

Just bought this jacket for my wife and she absolutely LOVES it! Wouldn't expect any less though coming from Columbia. My wife said that it fits great too.

I was debating between buying the Columbia and the North Face fleece jackets. After reading the reviews, I choose the Columbia and I am so pleased with my decision. For one, the price is much more reasonable, but I also feel that the quality is just as high. It was so warm and comfy and I feel it fits a female body better than the North face. I highly recommend this fleece jacket - it is an overall good purchase.

I have been looking, buying and returning jackets for months now and I always thought that more expensive was better. Boy was I wrong! I bought this jacket mainly for the beautiful Gulfstream color (which is the most beautiful aqua I have ever seen in a winter jacket; and living in Florida is so perfect when you just don't want to do winter drab)and as I pulled the jacket out of the bag so thrilled about the color, putting it on was the greatest thrill. Every thing was perfect. I am 5'8" perfect length and sleeves were not short like most jackets I try. The neck is high and so attractive and does not droop like some jackets I have tried. I bought in a Medium and I am 130. Perfect! I have just fallen in love with Columbia and the price! Thanks Back Country! My friend bought the Lemon Whip and she is blonde and it is beautiful on her and my twin bought the Hummingbird which is a beautiful emerald green. Better hurry and get one before they are gone. These colors are fantastic!

I've only worn this a couple of times and I absolutely LOVE it!!! This fleece works great to keep warm on chilly fall days. The fleece is true to fit and is a little roomie so you could even layer for winter!! I also love how soft/comfortable it is and that it has pockets!! I will DEFINATLEY be buying another one soon!!

I love this fleece. It is a perfect thickness, very cozy, and soft. It washes well and looks great. It does run a little big, but I actually like it being roomy. I usually wear a small, and could have gotten an extra small. Even though I could have gotten an extra small the small still looks great.

The Benton Springs jacket is my new best friend. It is stylishly shaped with 2 outer zippered side-pockets and two inside "pouch pockets" for stashing stuff. The collar can be stand up or fold down style. You can tug the side drawstrings to gather the jacket at the waist or leave the strings undrawn and the bottom of the jacket gradually tapers downward in a flattering way. The colors are amazing. My 1st was pale blue and got compliments galore. (Even bought the same color as a gift for a friend who coveted mine!) Now I've added: yummy yellow, brown (aka Bark), soft aqua (gulf stream) and winter white. I'm anxious for Navy Blue to be available in the near future. Overall, it's soft, cozy, comfy, roomy, well-made, easy to wash, lovely to look at....easily my favorite! ;-}

I took a giant leap of faith and bought the Melon color fleece. It was a very shocking color when I first opened the package but after wearing it a few times it has grown on me. Now I can't be separated from it.

it was fine except the color was pink when i received it. i thought it was was going to get a color like purple. clearer pictures with the true colors that they truly are. would have stopped me from purchasing this jacket.

Bought this for my 13 yr old daughter. She loves it. We originally bought a med, but that was too big. The small fits great. She is @ 5'5" and aprrox 110-120 lbs.

This is exactly what I was needing. I'm 5'2" 100 lbs. and I bought an XS in Beet. It's baggy so it layers easily and is so warm and soft! The drawstrings at the bottom allow for a tighter fit to keep out the cold air. It's the most comfortable jacket I own and looks pretty cute on too. Backcountry has the quickest shipping of anyone I've bought gear from, my jacket was shipped the same day less than two hours after I made the purchase. I highly recommend this jacket!

I love the color of this Benton Springs fleece jacket. I have 8 different colors and love all of them. The color was very true to what was on the website. The jacket is very comfortable, soft and a beautiful color. Can't say enough about it!

I love these fleece jackets. I own 6 of them and wear them all the time. They launder wonderfully. I would highly recommend them if you want warmth with a lightweight fleece.

I got this jacket in green. Its wonderful. I got it to stay a little extra warm indoors and outside in the spring/fall. Its great! I wear it all the time. Even right now. I've been meaning to get a fleece for awhile now and couldn't be happier. I typically wear medium and depending on the fit a large. But I got a medium and the fit is good.

There's not much more to say. It's a high quality item and quite cozy.

Great fleece. I love the color and the texture and the size is just right. It's perfect for an overcast day or a windy ferry ride. I would recommend this to anyone :)

Perfect for layering. The jacket is cut roomy to allow a long sleeved t-shirt underneath. The jacket is light-weight yet very warm. Also perfect as a spring/fall jacket.

I have 4 different colors in this fleece and they are great to throw on to go to the gym in winter and to wear as a fall/early spring coat. I'm 5'11" and the Large fits me perfectly. They wash up really well too! The only small issue I have is sometimes the zipper starts to unzip from the bottom up(does this make sense?), but you just have to unzip from the top down and then re-zip and fixed...just kind of a pain sometimes.

I knew this would have plenty of room in the Small size due to reading other reviews. I am a size 6-8, leaner now from lifting weights than I used to be, and it was less close-fitting than I like, now. I ordered the Hollyberry and it didn't really flatter my skin coloring, so I sent it to my sister and she loves it! The quality is great, the price great, and it would be very good as an inside winter weather piece, or outside under a down jacket as a layering piece. A very good value.

Three of us went to Europe for Springbreak 2010. I bought each of us full-zip fleece jacket. We wore them constantly when we were outside. They were wonderful: soft and warm. If the weather was really bitter, we put our coats over them. We were never cold.

The fleece is super soft and very nice. I would recommend getting a size smaller than normal if you are looking for a more fitted look.

LOVE THIS COLUMBIA FLEECE JACKET. IT IS SOOOO WARM AND COZY. NICE POCKETS EASY TO ZIP. WISH I HAD ALL THE COLORS. I WEAR IT EVERYDAY. THE COLOR MATCHES SO MANY THINGS. WORE IT TODAY! LOVE IT, HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

I bought it for my wife in the M size and it is not at all shaped like a womens body. It was really baggy and looked very bad. It did not fit under a shell jacket very well for her. On the plus side it fits me great and I really like it and it fits under my jackets really well. And for $17 I will not complain to much.

I bought my Granddaughter one for Christmas 2 years ago, and she wanted another, I ordered one for her, and thought Gramma needed one too!!. I now know why she likes them so well. Columbia is a great brand, and a good value for your money. It is perfect for layering under a jacket, in cold weather, but, it will be great for spring and cool evenings. It's great. I bought two more of these jackets in pink and black after one that I had had for several years was worn out and needed to be replaced. This jacket is a must for winter, fall, and spring weather. It is the perfect layering jacket for under a winter coat. The fleece is breathable which makes it a great transition jacket as well. I wear mine in the house to lounge around also because it is so comfortable. You can't beat the price backcountry.com offers either.

It's super cozy, warm and is perfect for winters when you need to layer. I can see why it's so popular and it truly is a staple in your closet.

The only thing negative to say is that it runs big. I have a small (in black) and it is still pretty roomy, even layered. An XS would have been perfect, but it doesn't come in this size. If you are petite, I can't say this jacket would work out for you.

I got this jacket in the gorgeous pink and a large. I am nearly 6 feet tall and it's nicely shaped and fits great! And it was a bargain too!

colors aren't what they look like on-line. i got the hummingbird color, it looked more like kelly green online. when i got it is is a really light green(glowing)

The Columbia Benton Springs Full-Zip Fleece Jacket - Women's is the perfect fleece jacket. I like a jacket I can wear as casual or semi-dressy. Being a teacher, especially in Wisconsin, this jacket fits the bill. It's a nice change of pace from always wearing a cardigan in the winter. I wear it in winter for extra warmth indoors and in spring and fall as a light jacket. I actually bought one for my cousin who is 12 year's old and when it came I loved it so much I put it on my Christmas list. The colors it comes in are amazing, the lagoon blue was even more brilliant in reality than on-line. I've said it before, Backcountry ships fast and has one of the lowest prices on Columbia I've found.

I have had my winter white for about a year and I got my girlfriend the black jacket about a month ago. They are very comfortable and conforms women's body very well. We both wear small and they look very nice as outer shell and as inner layer. I am thinking about purchasing more of these as christmas gifts! :)

Love the jacket! Fleece very good against the cold; bought one size up to add sweatshirt under it. Replaces the heavy winter jacket on all but the most frigid days.
Seems that most fleece products have longish sleeves. The trade-off is worth it!

I find most fleece jackets have sleeves that are a little on the long side. With all the +'s, this is a minor thing

The best ever. I bought three for my daughter. She wears them all the time. The more you wash them the softer they get. She has long arms & very tall so she loves the great fit. Would recommend for sure !!

I bought six of these as Christmas presents, because when you live in Northern New York, who doesn't need a Columbia Fleece? Well, my husband is already wearing his, as am I... my daughter came home from college and wanted to "borrow" mine, so I gave her the one I was planning as her Christmas present & my son is pretty sure his girlfriend will think it is a great gift... my brother-in-law and my niece will have to wait until Christmas! I love the colors, the fit is fantastic... medium is definitely a medium fit with room for a long-sleeved tee under. Can hardly wait for Christmas....

I read tons of reviews before buying this jacket and they have been dead on. I love the soft feel of it and i look forward to wearing it on the upcoming cold winter days!!

Love this jacket so much I had my company logo put on it so I could wear it to work. Fits a woman well and the zip pockets are a must for me.

I bought one of these last year and LIVE IN IT! It is sooo comfy, I seem to reach for it all the time and when it's in the wash, I always wish I had another. So, I just ordered 2 more. They are just fabulous. For as much as I have washed mine, I am really impressed with the wear. The collar is nice and soft around your neck and chin when zipped up and fabulous color choices in the kids versions too. The PRICE is the real plus as similar items from other brands like North Face cost considerably more. I would highly recommend this with no hesitations. I work from home and help my husband on the farm and I've work it as a light layer around the house, as a jacket in spring and fall and out to the field with a T or 2 underneath and it's cozy and comfy all day! Enjoy, you won't regret this purchase.

Just a side note, I ordered winter white thinking it would be a bright snow white, but it is not. In reality, the winter white is more of a cream color (which, in my opinion, is a bit darker than off-white even).

This was my first Columbia purchase and I like the fit of my fleece, but if you're looking for something to wear during the winter months, I'd go with North Face.

got this jacket a few weeks back and i absolutely love it! after the first washing, it become super soft and didn't shrink at all. i normally wear a petite so i got the XS and it fits perfectly. great for cooler days, i love to layer it under a rain jacket too! definitely a great buy

Nice fleece onverall. Love the green color. However, I've only had it for 3 weeks and the zipper came off track a few days ago. Luckily it went right back together, so still wearing it. Hopefully won't give me a problem again.

I love this fleece! I've been wearing it under my down coat all winter and it has made such a difference on these single digit days. The best part is the high collar, as your neck is protected enough to not wear a scarf. I'm addicted!

Let'er rip. I love this jacket. It is so soft and the fit is perfect. I get hot easy and that hasn't happened with this jacket. I would love to have other colors.

My daughter was a little disappointed because she likes the fuller, longer cut....which actually would probably be a men's or unisex design. She is keeping it and wearing it, and it looks nice. Is there a suggestion for a less fitted cut if we'd like to get another one?

I love the jacket. It's a nice, light fleece that would wear well under your ski gear on an especially cold day. Or, during the spring when it begins to warm up, wear it around town--it looks great! Seriously, I wear this jacket almost every day!
