With wind-blocking microfleece fabric and softshell overlays, the Columbia Men's Ballistic Windproof Fleece Jacket brings fleece up to a whole new level. Softshell fabric over the shoulders, chest, and elbows adds durability without inhibiting your range of motion, and the Underarm zips help dump heat as the day warms up. The Ballistic Windproof Fleece Jacket's slim fit eliminates bulk, so you don't have a bunch of extra fleece bulging out when you strap into your trekking backpack. Stash your energy bars in this Columbia fleece jacket's two hand pockets.
Bottom Line: The Columbia Ballistic Windproof Fleece Jacket combines soft fleece with wind-blocking fabric and pitzip vents.
This is a very warm and very windproof fleece. It will keep you warm even you aren't being very active. But thats the problem, its really only useful if you aren't being very active. I'm not sure if its the windproofing or what, but this has terrible breathability, which simply shouldn't be an issue for a fleece jacket. My Gore-tex shell is far far more breathable than this. After a day skiing you'll be swimming in this thing. And the fleece doesn't dry out. I used this skiing a few times, and unless you throw it in the dryer between days it'll still be soaked on the inside even if you hang it if you try and use it again the very next day.
So great if you plan on sitting and watching a football game outside in the wind, but there are far better choices if you are going to be biking, running, skiing, and such. Just depends on what you are locking for.

No it will not. Columbia updated their interchange system for Fall 2008 so that all liners and jackets would be interchangeable going forward, but they will not match back with the previous Titanium zippers.
This is another quality product from Columbia. However, the jacket runs a size smaller than stated. I always wear a large, but had to return the large for an extra-large.
Pros: Pit zips!, Zippered pockets, Collar zips all the way up around neck. Cons: No inside vest pocket, No liner so doesn't slip on and off easily, No wind flap behind main zipper to block wind. Overall: This is best for a middle layer when you are active. Not so good to keep warm when sitting still, for example at a football game.
