I am looking for hot weather shirts for our Florida 60+ softball teams. Will these help us stay cooler in summer, and can numbers and logos be added?

they are super cool to the touch and will block the sun. smaller numbers and team names can be applied. I would suggest heat transfer vs embroidery, due to the stretch

They will keep you cooler than a thick cotton t-shirt I suppose. They have mesh on the backs though, which means that you couldn't put name and numbers on the back.

This new generation of Omni Freeze works so much better. I had already nabbed a longsleeve to use while working in my yard in Denver. I burn easily and overheat about as quickly. The LS protected me from the UV and discomfort of overheating for hours of 90+ degree days... YES... HOURS.
This particular shirt has the new Omni Freeze that shaves weight from the original fabric without compromising the UV protection or coolness. This is a daily driver for me at the gym, on the trail and on the go in general
