You don't have to hang a bag of water in the tree and hope for a sunny day just to get a warm shower at the campsite. Coleman's Hot Water On Demand Portable Water Heater provides, well, hot water. On demand. Fill the included 5-gallon container with water, connect it to the pump, and turn on the heater. This heater's 30000 BTUs of power in the Portable Water Heater heat the water in no time. Connect your Coleman Hot Water On Demand Spray Adapter (sold separately) and enjoy a hot shower whether you're car camping or on a road trip. *This portable water heater uses a 16.4oz propane cylinder (sold separately).
Bottom Line: Coleman's Hot Water On Demand Portable Water Heater gives you hot water in seconds.
Robin, Have you tried contacting Coleman customer service? The following link has several options for you: http://www.coleman.com/coleman/ColemanCom/DearColeman2.asp My guess is that if they 'on' switch used to click on, and doesn't anymore that the switch/knob broke. But try contacting Coleman. Good luck!
Try using this product when it is hunting season in the midwest during fall. Or camping when the outside temp is betwen 40-60F. You will really be disappointed.

We are using this as an outdoor shower in a fixed location. I didn't realize until I read the manual that the intake hose has a submersible pump on the end. Instead of trying to attach it to the collapsible 5 gallon container, I dropped the intake line into a 55 gallon barrel of rain water. Also, for a fixed location, you can buy the propane converter hose that lets you use a refillable tank instead of the little cans that you can't reuse. We also got the shower head. Very easy to use. Good temperature control. Easy to take off the shower head and get hot water for tea. The 6v battery can be recharged with 120v or 12v and both plugs are included so it would be easy to use this off the grid or even off the map.
I would like to know if you could use this to warm up the water on a inflatable water slide? I use a continious water source water hose to keep the water running.
I couldn't see why not. You have to submerse a pump into water and it sucks it in, heats it up, and spits it out another hose. The hose that i had used with it was a shower head and had a decent amount of water pressure so i imagine you could substitute the hose and have a toasty water slide.
This thing is awsome. I used it in Montana while camping and just stuck the pump in a bucket of water, fired it up, and this can get hotter than your shower at home. It is adjustable to fit your showering needs and works great. It also used very little gas which is a huge plus. This thing makes you feel a bit more human when camping for an extended time.(i didn't buy it but i suppose it's worth the cost, especially when camping with multiple people)
If you could rig a loop of water through it somehow, yes. Otherwise it'll give you hot water for the Jacuzzi (after a ton of refills), but it won't keep it hot.
we purchade a coleman hot water on demand port. water heater...the on and off knob and temp control knob are not working this season...can it be repaired. we love this and would like to get it working again..
Does sub pump automatically start when turn on gasHow long does small gas canister lastCan optional hose to larger gas auto srew in where canister mounts
how does this fit on the tank or can you hook a hose up to it and where does it fit...otherwords how do you use this I am lookimng for something I can use either inside or out side..Somthing that I can use in a small shed if needed
It hooks up to the tank via a drop in pump with a hose attached. It can use any (clean) water supply. Reviewer above dropped it in a 55 gal drum. Also, it burns propane, so you need to have ventilation. If you try to use it in a small shed, it could kill you.
