Description

Sophistication station.

Grab your board, throw on the the Coal Hectare Brim Beanie, and head for the hills. This hand-crocheted acrylic hat relies on texture and tight knits for subtle style instead of smearing your skull with loud screen prints and logos. Wear the Coal Hectare Visor Beanie riding your fixie on city streets in fall, and take this hat to the resort when it snows.

I lost mine to a friend

I went out with some of my PCT thru-trekking friends for a couple of sections and one of them loved my beanie so much that she wouldn't let me have it back! So I ordered another.

Very Comfortable Hat!

This hat is not only warm and comfortable, but it's actually pretty cool looking as well.

Warms and stylish.

I got so many compliments on this hat. The little brim is great. I got it in the light grey.

It appears that the brim is just knit - that there is no supportive frame in it. Is that true? (I hope:))

There is a 1.5 inch wide band of fleece which goes around the inside of the brim which you could say is a supportive structure (??).
This is a nice toque (Canadian for beanie) and the pictures here do it justice.
Downside is the foam which keeps the brim rigid is somewhat visible through the knitting

great hat!

The brim doesn't stick out as much as other visor beanies I've seen. The fleece lining (bottom part) does a good job of keeping the ears warm. The top part doesn't have the fleece lining, it's loosely woven, and it let's heat escape so you don't overheat. On the downside, on a really windy day (+20mph) I felt some of the cold air, but it didn't discourage me from wearing it again. Overall, love this hat!

awesome hat!

It really is the cutest hat ever.
a little large, and i don't have a small head, but I think I like it that way!
It's got a nice fleece lining on the inside at the bottom, so i imagine it will stay warm instead of wind blowing through the knit part!

Just a bit...

too small for my head. (I wear 7 1/2 size hats, for reference.) I agree with the other review, this only works backwards. The visor isn't much of a visor, more of like a little flap. Again, might just be because my head's a little too big for the beanie.

Good Stuff

So far this hat has been good to me. The temperatures haven't gotten ridiculously low but my head feels like it will be warm enough even in the colder temps. This hat is nice and soft, it's warm, and it's pretty damn stylish. My only complaint is that it isn't very practical when your trying to wear goggles. It only really works with the hat backwards. Aside from that this is a solid stylish winter hat.
