Description

The Cameron makes moves.

How you wear the Coal Women's Cameron Beanie is up to you ... although we do suggest throwing a little bit of sag on this wool blend lid. It was born to ride low. Drop-stitch detailing completes the modern look so you're not rocking your grandmother's style when you slide up to the cute Australian liftie who's been vibing you all afternoon.

I own several winter hats. The longer my hair gets, the more I hate them. I have very thick hair, and when I grow it out, it makes the hats fit very snug....which ends up giving me a horrible headache. Last year, someone bought me a Columbia beanie, which I loved, but I can't wear my hair up with it or it won't cover my ears, and if it's not below 20-degrees F, I get too hot.

Along comes the Coal Cameron. I ordered it because I liked the shape. I figured I could safely twist my hair up into a bun and still look stylin' -- the wool blend should keep me warm. Oh, I was not prepared for the feel of this thing gracing my head!! First of all, it's a delicate knit, and very light weight. Secondly, it stretches very well. It does not squeeze my head --irregardless of how my hair is styled, it lays well--and does not give me a headache.

I wear it every day, and love how comfortable it is. The true test came this weekend when I was hiking in Glacier National Park. It kept me warm without my head sweating a lot. I had all 2ft of my hair piled on top of my head, and the hat still pulled down over my ears just fine--when the gale-force winds kicked up, I started wishing it was lined....but I just put the hood of my jacket over my head and all was right with the world again. I think making this hat any thicker would have made it too hot under my hood. It would also affect its fabulousness.
