Cloudveil Zorro LT Jacket - Men's - 2008 BCS

Great jacket I used it on a 4 day backpacking trip, on which it rained heavily. The jacket worked well and was very comfortable. The inside was suprisingly not sticky against bare skin. I was worried that the hood would be cheap and ugly like most fold-away hoods but when the hood is out it is impossible to tell that it is a fold-away.

This jacket is phenomenal especially for $37, I payed 62 and it was well worth even that price. It breathes well and is super comfortable. If you're tall you might look into the regular zorro and not the LT as it seems a bit shorter (my friends has the regular zorro). A medium is the perfect length for me and I'm 5'6"

Excellent for whatever you might be doing. Fly or rafting, great for summer storms and very light weight. HIking essential for day trips or extended stays in the mountains. Wear it over a fleece base layer and it not only stops moisture but keeps your protected. A great buy, worth every penny.

There's an unwritten rule about rain jackets. If the rain jacket doesn't have an inside mesh liner (to keep the coat from sticking to your skin), it has pit zips to allow air flow. So its either mesh liner or pit zips. But the Zorro LT sports neither of those--which makes it a prime candidate for making you sweat due to low breathability. I saw several reviews also note the lack of pit zips, and recite that the mesh lined side pockets could double as air vents if left open. But I agree with those reviewers' viewpoints that such an option is poor. Those two side pockets are the only ones, so if you have to leave them open for air flow, you've eliminated all the pockets. Furthermore, the pockets are low and too far below the armpit to give good breathability to that sweat-prone region.

On top of that, the hood fits very loosely around the head. It's the kind where you turn your head to glance sideways, but the hood doesn't go with. You end up staring at the inside of your hood. And even though you're probably pondering about me having a little peanut head, think again. I've got a pretty good size melon on my shoulders.

Positives? It's a really nice looking coat and probably repels the elements just fine. I wouldn't know, since I sent mine back and picked up a nice Under Armour rain jacket for the same price (59.99 on sale).

It's lighter than the normal Zorro but I think this is better. It's shorter than the Zorra but it is a bummer they don't have pit zips. Buy it at this price (63 bucks)

Very light and packable light rain jacket. Perfect for stuffing in the corner of a pack in case of a shower. Don't expect it to breath much, but it is great for summer showers and light rain. Looks nice too.

This jacket is just what I was looking for. It's nice and light yet feels sturdy enough not to worry about while backpacking. It also looks nice. When it gets colder I plan to wear it over a patagonia R3. I got the R3 in a medium and it fits snugly but not tight. The sleeves are very long on the R3. The Zorro LT jacket is a little roomier and the sleeves are shorter, so the large I got is a good size for layering.

It's not amazingly breathable but the pocket vents are pretty effective.

The single bottom snap on mine ripped off the inside of the jacket the third time I tried to undo it. It was too tight for some reason. However, since I don't even understand the purpose of having a snap there to begin with, I'm not that sorry.

the rain just bounces off... it's great for weather here in the pacific northwest... The only downside is that it does not have pit zips... it also seems the price went up on this site...

Good Jacket. Light weight. Made well. It doesnt have pit vents, but the large side pockets have a mesh lining that allows air flow when the pockets are unzipped. Its not quite as good as a pit vent but its way better than nothing. It does get a little clammy inside if you are sweating, and just wearing a T shirt. Wearing a good base layer will help greatly for this. I would recommend this jacket for cooler conditions where you can adequately layer to wick moisture away without overheating. Or for very light work situations where you wont be sweating at all (walking short distances). I believe that pit vents would have made me this give this 5 stars, otherwise 4/5.
