Cloudveil Koven Pant - Women's - 2007 BCS

Great fit, keeps you dry but can tare very easily. Perhaps good enough for a resort but not strong enough to withstand the demands of serious backcountry skiing or ski mountaineering.

I'm a little bit of a cloudveil fiend. I got these pants for touring, but have ended up wearing them all the time. They're super comfy and have a ton of stretch, perfect for negotiating a slicked out skin track. My tail never got wet, even sitting in the snow on a lunch break. They sit a little higher on the waist than I'm used to (I'm guilty of the lowrider craze) but after skiing the deeps I found I liked it, and didn't need a powder skirt.

These are the most comfortable pants ever! Seriously, after skiing I didn't want to change. Comfortably warm and 100% waterproof. I am a small size 8 in pants, size 29 jeans and I took a medium. Wore one layer of Ibex underneath. They fit perfect!! A++

Probably would have worked but could hardly get them on! Ended up with another model of Cloudveils - same size and they fit. Makes me worry about the attention to detail.

I also found these to be a lot higher in the waist than i am used to but boy does it keep the snow out nicely. I like the fabric. I got them in an XS because they fit my waist and leg length perfectly but they are a little too close to the skin so I get a little cold. I think if I had sized up they would be perfect.

No stars from me. I'm on my third pair of Koven pants this winter because the crappy side zipper keeps delaminating. They only last about 20 ski days before they start to fall apart. Additionally the materal tends to "pile" if you wear a harness from the abrassion so snow sticks to them. Plus the pants tear easily. Bottom line is if you plan to wear your pants for more than 20 days a seasons except to be on a first name basis with the warranty department at Cloudveil.
