The Clark's Men Desert Boot was born in the sands of North Africa, worn by the British forces during the Western Desert Campaign of World War II. That means it's a venerable 70 years old, but for some reason it's not showing its age. That's because timeless design and relaxed comfort never go out of style.

    Classic

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 10

I use these as my everyday office shoe/going out and love them. Once broken in these don't just look great but feel even better. I am a little worried about the wear of the sole but time will tell. They do run a little large so my suggestion would be going 1/2 size down.

    Classic look, all time style

These are my favorite pair of shoes to wear to the office or out in town. First off they get complements everywhere i go. On top of that they are make with the suede interior which is really nice on the feet. Once broken in these are a super soft and comfortable pair of shoes. They do fit a little on the large side from my experience.

    GOAT IS GOOD

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Look good, iconic design. Back for my second pair in a different color. I needed a half-size smaller than my regular shoe size for a good fit. The rubbery sole is comfy but I don’t think it will wear as good as other soles. Since I don’t need to wear the same pair daily, I’m expecting lots of life.

    still awesome 40 years later

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large

Yep - my dad wore these, and he gave me my first pair when I was in high school 40 years ago. They still rock! Agree with other reviews that it is best to size down. Got the beeswax leather in 13 and the sand suede in 12. I normally wear a 13, and the 13 fits fine with a thicker sock but the 12 has shaped to fit my foot better. There is no cooler and more versatile casual shoe than this one ... and my kids are into them now - so three generations of love for desert boots!

    not for high volume arch

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small

was really tight over the top of my foot (over my arch.) my friend said it'll stretch out over time. if that's the case, then it'd probably get too lose in other areas. didn't work for me.

Why am I only now getting desert boots?

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Every guy should have a pair for Clarks Desert Boots. Chukkas are where they are at. Best winter shoe I have owned yet...though do be careful on wet/snowy ground as you are prone to some slippage.

These things look great no matter what the dress code, from super dressy to super casual. They are really comfortable to wear all day. The hold up well to abuse (my friends have yet to destroy theirs). And they seem like they would be a great go-to travel shoe.

I am honestly kicking myself for having not discovered these things sooner. I couldn't be happier in my CDBs.

For fit, I would definitely go down to your lower shoe size. I had to return mine and go down a half-size, but I knew immediately as soon as I slid on the correct ones.

    Get yo-self a pair...seriously.

    uncomfortable

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size

Hard to believe these are so highly recommended. I tried the beeswax leather version, and the material was extremely stiff and rubbed uncomfortably above the ankle. The natural crease point above the toes as you walk flexed painfully into my foot. The shoe was sized well and *fit* just fine, but these were some of the most painful shoes I've ever tried on.

    Classy Casual Shoe

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

These are great! You can dress them up with a nice pair of pants and shirt, or wear casual out for the night. I got these for the man as a casual work dress shoe, and we both like them A LOT. He is a standard street size 10.5, with a little more of a narrow profile foot. I got the 10.5 in these for him, and they are the perfect fit. They seem to work best with a more boot-cut pair of jeans, but they aren't too bulky around the ankle which is great. I will definitely be getting him more of the Clarks, they are BOMBER!

    Size down

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: Runs large

I gave these as a gift, and was glad I followed other reviewers' advice: size down one size. The shoe is sleek looking and can be dressed up and down. It was a great buy.

    Amazing

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large

First off, these boots are comfortable. I first wore them a couple days when I was walking to and from place to place for hours. Probably 7-8 miles and my feet felt fine. Make sure to size down a full size though, I went down from a 12 to an 11. They also go with any pants and can be worn anywhere with anyone. Their versatility means I can legitimately wear nothing but these shoes for a week or more without feeling weird. Fantastic.

    Classic

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large

The Clark's Desert Boot is a classic, and the beeswax leather is icing on the cake. The boots run large, and I'd recommend sizing down a full size. I normally wear a 9 shoe, and the 8 was the answer here. They'll feel a touch snug at first, but they'll stretch enough to feel like a slipper.

    A classic that still delivers

I've had these boots since early November and wanted to really put them through hell before I commented on the overall status of it as a product.....then I forgot about writing the review because I couldn't find anything truly bad about them! With a true to size fit, crepe rubber bottom, and a patterned inside, these boots are both stylish and conventional. Ready for both a night on the town, dressed up, dressed down, or for a trip to the grocery store, these boots cover every possible situation (maybe not backcountry hiking, but you get the drift). The only "flaw" (if you'll call it that) is the laces which appear to be a bit flimsy. I ended up matching the colors with a cheap-o pair at the dollar store and they?ve sadly held up better. I didn't want to dock this product a star based on the laces because for all I know, it may not be a design flaw but just me practically pummeling these shoes in every condition. Overall, buy these. Lastly, not to deter anyone, I bought these and took them home to wear for Christmas at my parent's house and my Mom said that she once owned a pair. So they?re cross-generational too!
