Though I have another pair, I figure since I literally wear them every day it would be cool to get a unique color that would only be around for one season to add to the collection. Why not have more of what you love!

I've always loved these. They continue to perform great no matter what you throw at them. The burly build quality doesn't help me much though since they keep coming out with cool new styles that I want, so I keep buying more... very clever Chaco

I fall somewhere between an 11 and 12 in shoes. For dress/casual shoes I usually run closer to 11 (11.5's are great when I can find them) but for athletic/running shoes I almost always get a 12. After reading several reviews saying to size down for halves, I ordered these in an 11 and they just barely fit. My heel wanted to slide off sideways on the edge of the heel riser. I went to a local place and tried on the 12 and they worked much better for me so I am swapping them out. Returns at Back Country are super easy so I am not worried about this in the slightest. Hope this helps anyone who falls between sizes on these. **Update** Exchanged for a 12 and they fit great. Super comfortable . Looking forward to many years of use.

I hiked 20 miles in these and they are amazing! The lower saddle of the tetons was nothing for this shoe!
Awesome, couldn't be happier with these

I bought these sandals last spring. I was a little hesitant to pay so much for sandals but a girlfriend of mine at the time swore by hers so I tried these out. They're wonderful. They are pricey but worth the money because they're so sturdy and you can use them so often. I use mine to walk around town as an every day shoe and on easier approaches to the rock. I also used them on a three week backpacking trip in the Carribean, even when carrying my 40 pound pack. Very solid, very comfortable, and no signs of breaking down after the backpacking and a full summer of regular use.
I was a little hesitant about the strap going around the big toe because I don't normally like that kind of thing but I don't even notice it except that it really holds my foot in place on hills/talus slopes. I would highly recommend this product. Thank you Chaco!
I wear a 10-11 depending on brand and got these in a 10. Definitely recommend going down the half size if you're wondering.
Also, these did have a break-in period of a couple days where they weren't as comfortable. They rubbed my big toe and the bottom of the side of my foot under my ankle bone. I put some mole skin on the sandal for a few days and never had issues again
Great sandals

I love these sandals! I wear a 9.5 in street shoes and wear a 9 in Chacos so i would say go a half size down, especially for skinny feet like I have. Only grief I have is once adujsted properly that the strap for tightning the sandal drags the ground and I step on it all the time. Had to do a little custom fabricating to prevent it from fraying from walking on it.
I have a bad right knee and the sandals support my feet really well and improve my stride so I can walk further without pain, which is a huge plus for a pair of sandals!
Thanks!
awsome sandals

What I like best about the z/2 is that the toe loop provides a little more stability in the sandal if your getting a little more aggressive and doing some severe ascents and descents. I use them for a general shoe in moderate climates almost year round and they work well in the water and on the trail. I usually wear the webbing out before I wear the actual sole to the bone because I have some pretty course calluses from trail running, so I think the sole is incredibly durable. I prefer my z/1s if I am just hanging out because I like to move my toes around but that is just personal preference. Sizing is different and preferential. I usually wear a size 10.5 and have a size 10.75" left and right foot. With the chaco's I feel there is way too much room at the end of my chaco in a size 10. I try to size sandals so my toe comes right to the edge of the sole, otherwise I am tripping over stuff and they look ridiculous. So I always wear a size 9 in chaco's. I hope that helps for sizing.

I wear these any time that Im not at work. They are really comfortable. Also, when walking in water, my feet do not slip in the footbed at all. I have yet to see anyone else with this color either.

Im trying to love these sandals, but my feet don't agree. I keep getting blisters. I did a 9 mile hike in them the other day and haven't been able to wear them since. Even around town I get hot spots. Maybe I'm adjusting them wrong. I normally wear a 10-10.5 so I went with the 10s. any suggestions?

Several: Chacos run large for there size, so consider going down another half size. If you exchange them for the z/1, you can wear socks underneath while your feet break in. It's possible that your feet just don't fit chacos well; maybe the wides will work better for you; maybe you need to try other brands. Chacos don't really break in like soft-soled sandals, and 9 miles is a pretty good ways to walk in sandals that your feet aren't familiar with.

The first day out the box I wore them all day and they chafed in one spot but that was it. Just took them on a 9 mile kayak ride down a river and they were incredible. Even being in an out of the water all day they feel great and don't move around hardly at all and weren't chafing anymore. And I even got a sweet Chaco tan after only that one day on the river. Score. And a great price here. Best I've found.

My last pair that I bought 15 years ago had soles that wore through and were broken beyond repair (didn't know Chaco had a repair service). I used my last pair for hiking, walking, rafting, driving, golfing, juggling, you name it. Loved them. The new pair is standing up to my expectations.

Great sandal. A lot of my friends have chaco's and sold me on them. I also like that if anything happens to them I can send them to Chaco and they will fix it for a small fee...or at least cheaper than buying a new pair. Super comfy. Took me a day for my feet to get used to the straps. Also super fast shipping. All in all very satisfied with both the product and the service I got.
Great for casual

What's the difference, other than the price, between the "Backcountry Exclusive" and the other Z/2 Unaweep @ 84?

The webbing on the backcountry exclusive is offered by chaco specifically to backcountry only on this is the only place that u can y the z2 with webbng that colorwhich is why the backcountry exclusive is only offered in one color
Hope this awnsers your question.

While I prefer the look of flip flops, I've grown tired of the way they make my foot feel when doing anything other than lounging around. I bought the Chaco Z/2 sandals because I wanted a functional sandal - the toe strap makes it even more versatile. A recent hike in Yellowstone showed me the light. Chacos are the only way to go. I still wear the flip flops, but am rolling Chacos for any outdoor activities. Usually wear in between sizes 14 and 15 - the 14 fit great.

I took these down for a week in Havasupai, and I'm sure glad I did! In and out of water all day, having sandals is a must and these are solid! They really hold on to your foot, feel secure like a shoe, and grip as well as any hiking boots on land, and even better in the water. I got them a few weeks early and started wearing them around for day-to-day business. This is a must because it takes a minute to get used to them and also to get the straps dialed in to where you want/need them. After wearing these only a few times a week for 3 weeks before my trip, I was a little worried about how my feet would fare, but I put 13 miles on them in a couple days with no more wear on my feet than I would expect after that distance. These are definitely my new best friend.
One thing you'll probably wanna do after every few hiking trips is pull all the straps through the slots under water to get the dirt out. If you leave the dirt and sand in there, it will start wearing and fraying your straps!

I chose these chaco's over other pairs of shoes/sandals for our trip to Kauai and the Napali Coast, and I'm glad I did. I broke them in for a few weeks before and that was a good thing because they definitely take some getting used to. But now I have a great trail sandal that's super comfy wet or dry, grips well in the tide pools, drys fast, does not squeak and gets me through the rigors of the Napali Coast. I broke 80 on the golf course in them too. Best part is the sweet tan lines

Eight years after purchasing my first pair I decided to pull the trigger on a new set of Chacos.
While it is sad to see the company make the decision to move to outsourced production for their footwear, the new shoes seem to have the same great quality and comfort that I expect from the brand.
This is the first time I've opted for the toe strap; while it took some getting used to, I have come to rely on it to keep my foot firmly planted in the sandal during more rigorous activities. The BC exclusive color way is pretty darn nice looking to boot.

I bought these as a replacement to some cheap flip flops with the intention of wearing these all summer. After the first day I was sold. They fit very true to size and are very comfortable right out of the box. Because of the arch support they rubbed on the sides of my feet for a couple days but then I got used to it. Takes a little while to get used to the big toe strap but it's definitely worth it. Overall great buy and from what I hear they will last a very very long time. I already have a tan line from wearing them nonstop!
