Misses the Mark

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I wanted to like this shoe, but simply couldn't after wearing them. When you first put them on, they feel great, but the shoe lacks overall structure to be comfortable. The "Stretch Panels" that are advertised for comfort don't provide enough support. My arch completely collapsed due to the stretchy fabric under the leather. I couldn't imagine taking these outdoors and wearing them all day; returned them almost immediately. While I'm sure Chaco makes great sandals, I would wait a few more years to see them work on their shoes.

Good shoes

    The good:

I got the greenish colored ones and they are some good looking, well made shoes. They are also super comfortable and give good support.

    The bad:

These aren't really hiking shoes. I have seen these shoes listed under "outdoor active" or "hiking shoes" categories but they really don't give the kind of traction that you would expect from hiking shoes. Buying from a website, I couldn't tell just how much was on the sole of the shoe and when I got the shoes I saw that there really wasn't much. I have been on dirt trails with these and the grip is noticeably bad especially on slopes.

Ultimately i like these shoes, but just be warned that they aren't as adventurous as advertised.

Do the sandal and shoe fit the same? If I have a size 10 sandal, do I order a size 10 Chaco shoe?
