Put on the Chaco Women's Azula Mesh Hiking Shoe and hit the dusty trails. Hike the Pacific Crest Trail, trek through the Alps, or hike to the market in this well-supported and cushioned boot.
Arguably, the most important aspect of a shoe is the middle, as it contains the midsole and footbed which provide support and cushioning for your foot, leg, and back. Acknowledged by the American Podiatric Medical Association, Chaco's removable Luvseat footbed cradles every bone and muscle in your foot for long-wearing, supported comfort. A lightweight EVA midsole cushions your footfall, and the ESS shank adds torsional rigidity for greater stability over varied terrain.
The mid-height upper offers ankle support and is constructed from durable suede, nubuck, and breathable polyester mesh. The rubber toe cap and heel offer a whiff of added protection from rough-housing rocks and burly branches on the ground as you shuffle off to the next campsite. A polyester mesh lining helps move sweat away from your foot, and the gusseted tongue prevents small pebbles from finding their way into your boot.
On the bottom, the Azula sports the Active Adventure tread, complete with 4-5mm deep lugs. This grippy sole is made from EcoTread rubber and contains 25% recycled rubber to minimize your (carbon) footprint. Deep lugs enhance a rugged tread pattern for greater friction between you and trail, so the chances of you falling due to slipping footsteps is minimal.

Comfy, good looking & falling apart

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I usually buy Merrell's (size 7.5 since they tend to run a tad small) but I'm glad my size in those were sold out, otherwise I would have missed out on these Chaco's. I bought size 7, fit perfect. Like the other reviewer said, out of the box and no break-in issues. Arch support and step feel great. Plus they're a really good looking shoe, just classic lines without a lot of that extraneous design detail that turns me off other shoes. That said wearing them almost everyday now for the past 4 months, the inside part around the heel has started to wear away. This usually happens on my right foot, but after a couple years, not a couple months. For the discounted price I'll wear them till they fall apart but won't be buying Chaco shoes again, their sandals have always held up amazing.

sturdy shoes

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I was a little worried when I tried them on since I do have a tad wide toe box, but after a couple wears they broke right in and now they fit perfect and are so comfortable. They have a tough sole for hiking in rocky terrain, and offer really good support. Used these it multiple conditions and they have a sticky sole. I wear a 8.5 and got a 8.5, fits perfect. I would definitely recommend these for hiking or even backpacking.

Comfy and Grippy

This is a great shoe. I found it comfortable right out of the box. It is surprisingly lightweight for how sturdy it is. The Active Adventure tread really does offer awesome grip, I have tested this on mud, snow and even ice and felt confident and stable.
