    Central air for your noggin.

Some people say they don't like wearing a helmet because they haven't found one that's comfortable. Catlike takes the wind out of that excuse's sails with the Whisper Helmet. It'll protect your noggin just as well as any other helmet out there and is so light and comfy that you'll barely know it's there.

This helmet comes with a whopping 39 vents with Dual Flow design, which means that the vents are designed to constantly direct air through the helmet to keep your head nice and cool at all times. Think of it as air conditioning for your brain. To keep the weight down, Catlike uses its Airtube System of hollow elastic tubes to create an inner mesh throughout the helmet, which is a fancy way to say this reinforces the spaces between vents and reduces extra bulk.

The Whisper comes with Catlike's Multi Positioning System, which lets riders adjust the fit of the helmet in multiple directions. You can control both the tightness and up-and-down position of the helmet with just one adjustment point.

This helmet was nice but not for long

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Helmet is relatively light, sits on the head OK. Be sure to take note of the shape of the opening as the medium fits my head very snugly and would tighten during exercise. Overall I liked the helmet but the padding wore out and back of head retention broke after 1 season (maybe 160 hours?) of riding. Side note: There is a red tail hawk nearby that likes the shape of this helmet and I found that a bit concerning.

    Great for road and mtb

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I wore this helmet for both road and trail. It always kept my head nice and cool when going hard. I believed it saved my life after being hit by a car while traveling at 30mph. Helmet is toast, but my brains are still in my head. I plan to get another one once I'm up and riding again.

    Favorite Helmet of All Time

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've worn a lot of helmets, and I own several still, but I haven't worn anything but the Whisper since I first got it almost two years ago. It's well vented for summer and accommodates a cap for winter. I've got a hard-to-fit alien head, and this is the only low profile helmet that hasn't bobbed around once or given me trouble I've dialed in the fit. The harness system is really nice and accommodates ponytails. Overall, this is a really attractive, functional helmet. that's holding up really well over the years!

One of my favorite cycling related items ever.

    Favorite Helmet of All Time

    Great Lid

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This was my first Catlike and I have had it 2 summers and 1 winter season. I buy a new helmet every 4 years or so. I have ridden various Lazer, LAS, Bell and Giro models over the years. The helmets that sit closer to the head seem to be poorly ventilated and hotter, regardless of what the helmet makers offer as far as hype. This helmet was/is the coolest and most well ventilated helmet I have ever owned. It does leave a little more space between the scalp and ventilation channels so it appears a little larger than some when worn. In winter it will fit my helmet liner with no trouble if I loosen the rear retention system slightly. Would definitely buy it again. Can't comment much more than the others on crash protection or fit (mine was great but I have never had a poorly fitting helmet).

    Saved my life!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought a Catlike Whisper Plus Deluxe Helmet from Competitive Cyclist in January 2013. I was hit from behind by the extended side view mirror of a truck last Tuesday. I landed on my head and shoulder first and ended up with a concussion, two fractures of my pelvis, two fractured ribs, a separated shoulder, a large hematoma, lots of road rash and assorted other injuries. My helmet was cracked in seven places. When I arrived at the ER and my CT scan films had been developed, the head trauma doc picked up my helmet, looked both it and me over and said "There's no question, this helmet saved your life!". I should also mention that this helmet fits me perfectly, has the best peripheral visibility and ventilation of any helmet I've ever owned, is the lightest helmet I've ever owned, was extremely comfortable and had stood up to almost 18 months of hard riding prior to my accident. Until I landed on it, it was in perfect condition. I'm buying another Catlike helmet right away, even though I won't be able to ride a bike for another 3 months. During my three days in the hospital, my helmet sat on a shelf in my room and many doctors and nurses picked it up, examined it and told me how lucky I was to have been wearing such a well made helmet. It more than did its job.

    Saved my life!

Just wanted to add that since I wrote my comment I've bought a Catlike Miximo hemet. I won't be able to ride a bike again until mid-September but I've tried it on, played with the settings and changed out the side pads to one size thicker. It fits very well and seems to be even lighter than the Whisper. I really like the new height and ratchet tightening adjustments. Can't wait to use it on the road.

    Super fly!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Picked up one of these after my noggin' busted a Bell Sweep. I really liked the way the red looked in the picture, and it's even more electric in person! It's like a matte, bright red. Looks super fly!! One note...my strap is grey...not red.

I wore a M in Bell, and took a gamble with a L in this one after reading various comments about it fitting too big/too small. It isn't too heavy, and, I'm noticing the benefits of the plethora of vents as it heats up here in North Cackalacky. It fits a little differently than the Bell, as it sits a little differently on the head, however, I've found it offers more in the way of peripheral visibility and what not. Doesn't seem like there is a lot of padding, but, kind of like a minimalist saddle these days, it's got all you need without the bulk. The pads wick well and are nice and soft.

Final thoughts...super ventilated, good looks, comfy, and not too many around!

    Didn't Last Long

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Rode the helmet for one year and it proved to be not very durable. All of the padding separated and fell apart, and the patented "Multi Positioning System (MPS)at the rear of the helmet" broke. The helmet gets two stars because it has great ventilation and it is light. However, I have had to replace it in less than a year.

    It Fits Me!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I think helmets are probably the most personal piece of equipment, some folks seem like any helmet fits just fine and others of us can't seem to find anything just right. Giro and Specialized both kinda fit me but Bell, LG and Lazer are a totally different story. The Catlike is by far the most comfortable helmet I've worn. As far as venting is concerned I can't tell any major difference from one brand to another, if you buy a quality helmet they all seem to vent about the same. So for me its all about fit, that said I think the Catlike looks cool.

    Pro Ventilation

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Got a sweaty dome? Suffer from a soggy noggin? Step right up folks and plunk a Catlike Whisper on your head. I busted up my last helmet crashing into a bollard so I needed a new lid. After some research and reviews (Thanks Backcountry for the cool video review) I picked the Catlike. I'm extremely impressed by the fit, the weight, and the ventilation. It fits better than your favorite pair of jeans. It's virtually unnoticeable (unless you can feel a butterfly resting on your follicles) when strapped on. It's like wearing an industrial evaporative cooler, minus the big square metal box and the bulky water pump. And... the colors are pretty bad-#$$.

On to the downsides... minor as they may be. The helmet industry hasn't adapted concussion-reduction standards, therefore the Whisper doesn't have that feature. A guy can dream. Wishing aside, it's on the expensive side, but you do get what you pay for.

    Pro Ventilation

    Second times the charm

I owned a Whisper briefly in 2011 and loved the fit and style but the ratchet broke after 2 weeks so I returned it. For 2013, the Multi Positioning System (MPS) is much improved and shows no sign of breaking after a couple of months of consistent use. In addition to being light and having good ventilation, the fit is great (I have a small) and doesn't make me feel like I look like a bobble head. My only complaint is that the plastic ring that holds the ends of the chin stap broke almost immediately. Not a big deal but its the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.

      Second times the charm
