The eyes have it.

We've all crested particularly grueling climbs during afternoon rides in summer only to have the sweat built up during the climb drip into our eyes, disrupting our vision and making the descent damn-near impossible. Castelli's Summer Skullcap prevents this, combining a cooling mesh dome with an absorbent head band that pulls moisture from your skin, diffuses it across its surface, and sends it on its merry way into the hot summer air.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I am a novice road rider in South TX, this cap is thin and breathable and fits nicely under my helmet. It did a good job of absorbing sweat. I would like it to fit a bit tighter, but otherwise a well made cap.

Work remarkably well

These aren't perfect, in terms of handling sweat, but it has decreased the problem of sweat in my eyes by about 90 percent...and that's pretty good. They also appear pretty durable, as I've washed mine a number of times without any apparent wear. My only complaint is the price, these should by about 50% less.

love it

Fits me perfectly (Medium helmets all fit me well) but not a lot of stretch so careful buying if you have a large head or a lot of hair. Very thin and comfortable with flat seams that do not dig into your forehead as many bands do.

Any info on UV protection? Not only am I...

Any info on UV protection? Not only am I looking for something to keep sweat under control but to also protect my bald head from the sun during the summer months.

Responded on

No sure it is provides any UV protection. The top on the cap is mesh so it certainly won't replace sunscreen.
