Fast and light.
Throw on the Castelli Men's Sottile Vest when the rain rears its ugly head. The Sottile is made of transparent, breathable stretch material so your jersey is visible and your body can regulate temperature. Mesh inserts add breathability, and a zippered side pocket gives you convenient, weatherproof protection for the essentials that you like to keep handy.

- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I like that it's extremely lightweight, fits great and is easily stored in a back pocket. It's designed to be a rain vest and doesn't breathe well so with that in mind I pack it for those chilly descents and days of unpredictable weather.
Fit 1 Size Up
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I ordered a large, typically wear Med (6', 175 lbs. ) and this is still a touch small.
The collar bunches around your neck. Zipper pinches right at base of throat. It doesn't come up to cover.
3 stars for fit and collar. I would prefer a higher flatter collar against the back of the neck to protect (rain and cold).

Easy and light
Light weight vest that stores easily in your jersey for a day full of descents in fair weather. It great if your not looking to carry much on you but, want to be ready if the weather takes a change for the worst.
clammy and does not breathe
This Castelli vest is good for wind and rain protection. However it does a very poor job of transferring heat/sweat to the outside of vest for evaporation. I went on a ride today in cool 50 degree weather and when I took the vest off the inside was dripping wet while the outside was dry. I don't believe it "breathes" as Castelli claims. I have returned it for refund and continue to look for the perfect lightweight wind vest.
get one size bigger
Good vest, but need to size one.
Good vest, a little short
The material and workmanship is good. I'm 6'1", 175pds and usually order Castelli one size up, but in this case the L was actually quite roomy in the torso but a bit short overall and particularly in the back. I'm average to slightly smaller than average in upper body length. The XL would be too big, so overall not for me.
Great light weight vest
I got this vest as a Christmas gift really like it. I was on a group ride in southern Utah and a storm blew in when we were far from home. We had no choice but to ride back in a down poor. I slipped this baby on and was the only one without a red mud streak up my back. My vest just washed right off. (if only it could have covered my bibs). It is light weight and stows in your jersey pocket without any trouble. I am 6'0" and 175 and my large fits me well. Castelli sizes are a bit weird. I usually wear a medium jersey but got the vest a size larger to fit over a base layer and jersey...glad I did.
