Description
Castelli's Rosso Corsa Bike Socks treat your feet right.
The Castelli Rosso Corsa 6 is the shortest version of the Rosso Corsa sock. It's the Rossa Corsa because that's the designation Castelli uses for their best gear. They are woven with Meryl Skinlife antibacterial fibers. The sock is thus wicking, will feel dry pretty much in just about every circumstance save a rainstorm. The top of the foot is a diaphanous web, ultra-thin and extremely breathable. In the middle of the foot, the arch area, there is a high-density band woven in. You won't notice any difference in thickness, but you will feel like the sock is becoming one with your foot rather than sliding around between your foot and your shoe. The toe has a flat seam for comfort and the cuff at the top is folded over to keep the sock from slipping.
The Castelli Rosso Corsa 6 Sock comes in three colors: Black, Red, and White. The toes, heels, mid-foot band, and cuff logos are in contrasting colors. Sizes are S/M, L/XL, and 2XL.

I'm not sure who's to blame but the socks I ordered were clearly used. There was a gash down the heel side, defined sweat stains on the soles, and severe damage to the elastic. What's worse is that I paid more for the shipping than the actual sock cost me, then an additional $7 to send it back, so in the end a single pair of socks cost me about $25. Realcyclist lost some points in my book on this one.
Excellent sock, your feet will thank you

I got a size down as recommended, the fit great, keep my feet dry and the perfect temp. The compression band helps with arch support and they look pretty snazzy as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdUzVF3UfHE is the new location for the Rosso Corsa video

Excellent product - well made. I wear US shoe-size 10 or 10.5. From previous comments I went with size S/M and it turned out a perfect fit. During training rides above 80 F, these socks ventilate the mid-sole region. Previously I was wearing thin running socks from Nike, etc. where heat build-up was a problem. Castelli products have good form and style designed for cycling. So far I have two pairs of these and wear a Castelli fingerless glove with minimal padding - so far I'm getting great results.

Write your question here...What is the difference between XXL and 2XL?

Incidentally, they are one in the same.

I know that sounded like a dumb question but they are different prices. Further, the sizing chart is way off. I got the XXL to go on my 10.5-11 feet. The socks were way huge. The L/XL fit exactly.

Am I reading the sizing right? If I wear a US size 9 shoe then does that mean size L/XL?

No.
I'm a US 9.5/10, I bought the L/XL and the heel cup marking (where sock is different color at heel) ends up covering my Achilles tendon when pulled up tight enough to prevent bunching around my toes. I bought the Medium and had a perfect fit.
Castelli is bizarre fit wise. Socks are typically much larger and shorts/jerseys much smaller. I'm a huge Castelli fan, just takes trial and error trying to get the best fit. Don't get me started on the way Castelli full zip jerseys vs. 1/2 zip jerseys fit....

This looks like a really nice sock like I need. But I'm a big guy and usually wear out the heel. Anyone know these socks can handle heavy?

These are probably not what you are looking for. These are very lightweight socks, the fabric on the heal is very thin and other parts of the sock are even web-like. I tend to have the best luck with a standard athletic sock and reserve socks like these to killer hot days.
