Description

Stay warm, look sleek

Named after the famed Mortirolo pass, the Castelli Mortirolo Jacket lets you ride comfortably in temperate winter climates. Utilizing some of the technology found on the Espresso Due, this jacket is geared more for riding in moderate temperatures (higher than 46 F) while providing ample wind protection.

The Mortirolo is constructed in two parts. The front utilizes WindStopper X-Fast 2 Fabric, which features four-way stretch, designed to eliminate pulling and bunching while ridingt. Since full windproof coverage isn't needed in moderate temperatures, air-permeable polyester fabric on the back allows body heat to escape while still keeping cool wind off your core.

The Mortirolo is cut in a slim fit to prevent flapping as you ride. The two vertical zippers on the front of the jacket give maximum ventilation when used with the full-length zipper to dump heat while you are climbing. For a light air flow, simply adjust the side vent zippers to where you want them.

The Castelli Mortirolo Jacket is finished off with an elastic gripper along the bottom hem to keep the jacket from riding up. It comes with three rear pockets for your riding essentials and rear reflective tabs and piping on the chest to keep you visible during low-light conditions. It comes in four color combinations- Red/black, Black/white, Anthracite/black, and Camouflage/black and is available in Small through XXX-Large.

Great product - performs as expected - quality, fit, utility. Ideal for spring temps from 45 to 60.

I finally broke down and bought a good winter cycling jacket and man am I glad I did? This is the single best piece of cycling apparel I own, I love it. Fit is great, I bought an XL and I am 5'10" 175lbs, perfect fit. I only wear a wool long sleeve base layer under it from 0 degs and up. If it gets above 50 deg I only use a thin short sleeved base layer. Its pretty water proof too. The vents work well at the front.
Best of all its a really sharp looking jacket!! I also bought the neoprene Castelli gloves and Sottile jacket and they are the perfect compliment for my winter riding here on the wet West Coast.
Buy one.

Wore this on a cold night within the low 40's in SoCal.

Love it. Wasn't sweating profusely, conforms nicely, looks good, dries quickly, very pleased with the product.

The windblocker panels kept me warm even while the winds picked up, making my feet jealous of my torso and arms.

Love this jacket because of the bomber protection in the front and neck.. while the lighter mesh like back keeps you from over heating. Wouldn't recommend for wet weather. Tron camo also gets you some good looks.

This jacket is, in a word, outstanding. As others say about Castelli, make sure to go a size up. I normally wear a large (5-10, 180 lbs, 42 in. chest), but the XL in this jacket is right for me. Still a bit snug, but good. I've worn it now four times in temps ranging from 38 F to 50 F. At the lower end I wore a long sleeve base layer and at the higher end a short sleeve base (Craft in both cases). I was cool but not cold, and the ventilation is great. I especially like the two small front vents. Back pockets are very good. The good form fit prevents the billowing I used to get with my windbreaker. The Windstopper front is effective. All in all, I love it so far.

This jacket performs very well in 40-45 degree range. I wear a light base layer with this jacket and stay very comfortable. The jacket does a good job of pulling moisture away from the bass layer, keeping you feeling dry. This jacket is a good choice for those rides where the effort constantly fluctuates. The vents help regulate heat during the high efforts and the there is just enough insulation to keep you warm during the periods of easier riding.
