Cold weather doesn't care if your preference is for bibs or tights. The bottom line is that, regardless of preference, come winter, you're going to freeze in your summer kit. It’s a good thing that Castelli made sure that everyone gets a leg up on Old Man Winter with the Ergo Tights. With a focused ergonomic fit and a fleecy inner-lining, the Ergo Tights will provide a warm riding experience through the cold months ahead.

Castelli's Ergo Tights place an emphasis on an anatomic design and cut. To create a construction that's principle purpose is a comfortable, barely-there fit, the Ergo was made from Castelli's popular Thermoflex fabric. Thermoflex gives you the benefit of having lightweight, stretchy tights that warm like a light jacket on your legs and fit like your race kit. Thermoflex also features a fleecy inner lining that traps a layer of warm air on your skin while it wicks away moisture to the quick-drying Ergo surface. This process provides a consistent warmth and dryness that you'll appreciate when it's in the 40s.

Castelli added extra comfort by incorporating the breathable Kiss 3 pad. The Kiss chamois uses a seamless construction of brushed microfiber to avoid any chafing, and the pad is anatomically shaped to follow your movements. The Kiss 3 also features a variable density design, with more padding where you need it and less where you don't. To secure the fit of the Ergo, Castelli included flat silicone ankle grippers and the reflective camlock ankle zippers.

The Castelli Ergo Tights are available in six sizes from Small to XXX-Large and in the color Black/white stitching.

Long legs, but good tights

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

With typical Castelli attention to detail, these are great tights. The one gripe I have with them is that the legs are just a little too long, by maybe two inches. It's a small grievance, and I usually solve this by pushing the extra material into my shoes and hoping it stays. I'm 5'7", with a 29in inseam and a 27in waist, and 130lbs and aside from the legs, size small is a perfect fit. In my opinion, these are much more like a women's fit.

All griping aside, these are great tights. They're not particularly windproof, but warm enough that I'm confident going on rides at 50 with a long descent with a windchill in the upper thirties and commuting to work in the upper thirties on flat roads. The Kiss3 chamois is pretty nice, not the best I've ridden on, but certainly not the worst (that goes to a $50 Fassa Bortolo kit I got on eBay, not knowing that the gear was from 2006). For the price, you won't find a better value in cold weather tights, just be aware that the legs are long.

Good Value, Nice Material. Excellent!

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I fit into Medium Castelli Aero Bib, Endurnace shorts.. The Ergo Tights fit just the same.

For ppl wondering about the lenght of these tights, I usually take a 30X30 Levi Jeans.. The Ergo tights are a touch long by an inch or so measured to the ankles by I was able to spread the fabric so it worked out fine and they stayed put for the duration of the ride with no bunching up at the back of the knees.... I was worried these tights would be too long as I found the Medium Castelli leg warmers too long for my short legs..

Rode 2 hrs in just above freezing mark and they are perfectly comfortable and wind proof.. Great addition to my winter kit..

Excellent Value

I really like these tights; they fit great, are comfortable and work excellent in the intended temperature zone. At first I was worried about overheating as they are really fleecy on the inside but seem to feel the same at every level of exertion. I wish I had picked up the bib version but couldn't pass up the sale price they had last summer. These are a great budget friendly pair of tights to add to the rotation...

Unanswered Question

Bought these from another site without realizing the giant red logos were on the backs of the legs. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to remove those? They're so ostentatious, and just not my style.

The tights are just what I am looking for....

The tights are just what I am looking for. I am 6' 6". with a 34" inseam. Will these tights fit me? What is the inseam of these tights?

Just a F.Y.I., Castelli does offer a even larger size, with a longer length inseam...just in case these fell a "bit short" on you.

Check out their sizing chart for future reference, then you can still come back to B.C. to purchase!

Hope this Helps (for the future!)
