Better than the band.
The Duran Thermal Jacket is made of Castelli's wind-stopping Arctic Shield fabric to shield you from the numbing effects of winter weather. Blinding headwind today? Bring it on. You'll be ready for the effort, as long as you're properly protected.
The Arctic Shield fabric has four-way stretch to eliminate pulling and bunching when you're bent towards the drops, and it follows your body as you stand and dance up the steepest parts of the climbs. The fabric features a super-soft, fleeced interior that holds in your body heat, but it's made to expel moisture. This ensures all-day comfort, whether working hard or coasting down a long descent.
Like your favorite jerseys, this jacket has three large rear pockets to carry the day's supplies. In the front, a full length zipper makes it easy to get on or off, and it allows you to ventilate when you need to. The wrists and waist have elastic sewn into the cuffs to ensure a comfortable, snug fit and to keep cold air from creeping in as you ride.
The Castelli Duran Thermal Jacket is Black/white and is available in six sizes from Small to XXX-Large. Please check the dropdown menu for availability.
- Elastic cuffs & waistband, and a covered zipper ensures icy wind doesn't sneak inside to spoil your ride
- Three rear pockets provide easily accessible storage
- Soft, brushed interior retains body heat for maximum warmth

Nice Jersey / Jacket
I've worn this with and without a baselayer. Paired with a baselayer, I was comfortable down to 15ºF range. Without a baselayer, it is warm & comfortable & soft on the skin up into the 40s, but does not absorb or transfer sweat very well. Without a baselayer, I found myself getting soggy. It fits looser than I typically like. I'm 6'0" / 170lbs, slim build, and returned a Large for a Medium. The jacket is perfectly proportioned in terms of sleeve length & tail length...just a bit floppy even in size Medium. Capo has a slimmer fit that I prefer. For those who don't like the "high pits" cut of most European cycling apparel, this Castelli will suit you fine. In a steady rain yesterday, this Jersey / Jacket repelled all outside precipitation. Even with my minor objections, it'll be nice to have in my rotation when conditions get really cold & drizzly around here
