Keep track of your altitude changes, the weather, and your bearings when you put on the Casio Pathfinder PAG40 Altimeter Watch and head out into the mountains. The triple-sensor technology is encased in a 100m water-resistant plastic housing and features an automatic EL backlight and Duplex LCD display.

  • Altimeter measures and records your altitude, total ascent, and total decent and even features an alarm to let you know where you are on the pitch
  • Digital compass with sixteen points of measurement to keep your expedition on track
  • Barometer displays changing barometric pressure in graphs, so you can be ready for the storm even if the mountain hides the clouds
  • Thermometer displays the mountain temperatures from 14 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit (-10 to 60 degrees Celsius)
  • Low temperature resistant to 14 degrees Fahrenheit (-10 degrees Celsius)
  • Automatic EL backlight includes Afterglow so you can read and decipher the Pathfinder’s data in a dark tent
  • Five daily alarms help remind you to take medicine or to look out of the tent for a weather check
  • Automatically programmed calendar through the year 2039

Bottom Line: Keep track of where you are and what the weather is up to when you climb with the Pathfinder.

If you wear it for looks only

Nice looking watch, but poor build quality. The ring around the watch that has the compass markings turns, and dust and grit get down into the nooks easily. It is soft plastic and mars easily. I have had it for a couple of months, and I can tell it would not be around for years to come.

Fragile!

I bought this watch to hopefully make it through a deployment. It was relatively cheap for an ABC watch, and was as big as a hockey puck on my wrist. It didn't look bad, either. The downfall of this watch is definitely the durability. I dropped it from ~3 feet onto tile and the screen cracked, making the watch unreadable. So the watch didn't even make it to Afghanistan; I guess I'll be sticking with Suunto.

If you haven't deployed yet, check out the Riseman GW-9200-1. It's a G-Shock version of this watch, with the solar and atomic features of the watch. All of the G-Shock durability, with similar features to this watch, except without the compass function. I added a small Suunt watchband compass to take care of that.

If you've already deployed.. Godspeed, brother. I've been there.

Great Watch

This watch does everything I need and more. My only complaint is that during physical activities - biking, lifting weights - it is a bit bulky and I am constantly hitting the buttons by accident when I bend my wrist. Otherwise, love it. Compass seems pretty spot on.
