Do you run from the room, shrieking hysterically, when someone suggests putting away your summer skirts? The Carve Designs Women's Holton Dress was made for you—a bit more substantial for September and October, but not heavy like your grandmother's wool housecoat. This button-down dress looks adorable with ballet flats, or tights and cowboy boots. Toss on a jean jacket before even considering ceding to the seasons.

Carve Designs Holton Dress - Women's
Hangin with Holton and Greg Hill
One of our Backcountry.com athletes, Greg Hill came and gave a super sweet presentation in our retail store in Salt Lake City, Utah.
I wanted to look nice for such a grand event, so I chose the Holton Dress!
A BEND and SNAP dress ! ! !
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
I. Love. This.
I've never tried Tencel blend fabric before, but it's surprisingly soft and comfy. I went for the denim option, because I think it's SUPER easy to dress this up or keep 'er casual - a very versatile piece.
I don't mind spending a little extra flow on wardrobe pieces like this one - because it won't go out of style. Looks adorbs with boots, (cowboy or snow) - flats, leggings, bare-legged, you name it.
I am 5'3" and 120 - opted for the size small.
The fit is a TINY bit baggier than I would have hoped for, but it wasn't a deal-breaker. The cinch tie helps to define your waistline and I often add a thick belt to assist in this manner.
One thing you should know....DONT SQUAT!
That will result in the bottom snap of the dress popping open.
You must diligently practice your Legally Blonde "BEND AND SNAP" moves if you plan on picking anything up off the floor. (Or maybe I'm just a bad squatter...???) Good thing I have a roof over my head.
I thought the tab inside the sleeve used to sport short sleeves would be annoying - but it isn't. Was surprised to find this feature so useful - but it's great.
As for the description above:
"Toss on a jean jacket before even considering ceding to the seasons."
I would not recommend layering the jean jacket atop the denim dress unless you are really prepared to sport the denim on denim look. It's hot, it's bold, but it isn't for the weak of heart.
