When the weather turns sour, but you have a ton of repairs to do on the cabin, button up the Carhartt Men's Work-Flex Jacket and get to work. Carhartt coated this polyester knit jacket with polyurethane and added heat-sealed seams for full waterproof protection from the elements. A double-front storm closure with inside and outside snaps, adjustable storm cuffs, and a detachable hood give you an additional line of defense from foul weather.
Bottom Line: Work through the worst weather in this jacket.
Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.
It's probably d*mn close. But know that a 100% waterproof jacket will NOT be breathable. It's a tradeoff, but if you're not planning on doing aerobic stuff in the jacket, go for it and get the most waterproof option you can find.

Carhartt makes work stuff, not sports stuff, and this jacket fits that mold. I just got back from a trip to the Sierras in the snow (x-country and snowshoeing). It definitely keeps the snow/water out, but it definitely doesn't let your sweat out, so it's sort of a wash. If you're looking for a raincoat for getting to work, dog walks, etc. in the rain, it's really good for that. It will keep you totally dry and seems well-made and durable. If you want a jacket for sports activities, look elsewhere. If you do get one, go for a smaller size-- they say it is made for layering, and I found my normal size to be way too big (except maybe if I was wearing so many layers that my arms wouldn't bend).

I don't know the specific weight but it is a carhartt so you can probably assume that it is heavier and doesn't pack down very small. I would just spend a little more and get the North face jackets that are on sale.

the jacket is comfortable and keeps you dry and warm in the cold rain of dec and jan. Wish it breathed a bit better but still like the jacket
