I've had a hard time with a lot of different gels but these seem to be the best. They've got a great taste but don't give you a wicked amount of shock to the system and then leave you on the side of the.....whatever you're doing. I'll buy them again for sure!

But I'm really not sure. I'm new to energy gels as a food source. So it's very hard for me to gauge. I would say it gave me the energy equivalent of 1/2 or 2/3 of a standard candy bar (snickers) sorry but that's my standard. Taste was fine, once you got used to it.
when is the best momnet to drink it in the case of a 2 miles

These gels get the job done. The best part is that I can stand to eat them during a race! We used these for our Ultra Relay team and they were a hit, everyone reached for these over any other product.

Carbbooms definitely get the job done - filled with energy and helped propel me to a 3:19 marathon. However, I like the tasete better of say a hammer gel or a gu during the last few miles of a race. Rather than that, carbooms are great.

Like a fine wine, the Carb-boom gels have mellow undertones of flavor that only with a tasting can you discover. I mean, I guess its gel, and you are used to it tasting like CRAP, but these actually surprise you. My favorite flavors are the vanilla/orange or strawberry/kiwi and I'm not a fan of apple/cinnamon. In comparison to other gel-options, I would say these are more like a powergel than a clif gu. (I hate gu. A LOT!)
