Description

So fun to ride it's scary.

Strike terror into the hearts of every feature inside and outside of the park with the Capita UltraFear FK Snowboard. Designed for freestyle shredding anywhere on the mountain, this board is a team favorite thanks to a versatile flex and profile that makes it scary-good for riding everything from urban kink rails to secret powder stashes.

New this season to the Ultrafear is a Titanal spine through the centerline of the board that increases strength and durability so it can handle more abuse than ever. As always, the Freestyle FK profile is flat from insert to insert for stability and edge hold, and slightly rockered at the tip and tail for float in pow and catch-free buttering. The Custom Weave fiberglass configuration uses a specially formulated resin with more rigid qualities to increase energy return while decreasing weight.

A lightweight poplar core allows for a consistent, uniform flex to help you keep your presses looking legit, and beechwood strips at the inserts increase pop and durability. Die Cut sidewalls with 1.5mm dampening along the flat section of the board reduces chatter for a smooth ride, and the sintered base is wax-infused to prevent it from drying out and tough so it can take a beating and keep getting up for more.

  • Flat with early-rise tips
  • Medium flex
  • Custom Weave fiberglass configuration
  • Poplar core with beech strips

Made my brother cry...

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

This was a Christmas gift for my little brother. He was speechless. I told him it was a present for my dog and he needed to help him open it. When he opened the box, tears welled up in his eyes. He was on that board ALL WINTER and loved every minute of it. Great ride, awesome for everything from lazy carving to the terrain park.

However, I'm a little miffed that the price dropped over $100 right after I bought it.

I'm 5'7 and 120lbs, 151 or 153?

Does anybody know why is the longest one just 157?
I'm 190cm (6.3) will the 157 hold me?

Responded on

Birowsky,

For this particular board Capita makes the biggest one a 157cm board due to it being a park board.

Generally folks riding park will size down to get a board that is easier for tricks and reducing spin weight at the tip and tail.

Ultrafun

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Very fun to ride this board. The flex and snap of this board is a nice balance. the shape of the tips make riding this board in the pow a dream, the tail just sinks and you can stomp anything. This is my favorite board to ride in the pow. The only con is no edge hold tech so it can slip out a bit on ice.

I wear a size 13 boot, could i get away with riding the 157 ultrafear comfortably??

Responded on

Hey ema105702353,

Riding this board with size 13 boots, you will inevitably get toe and heel drag. I would strongly suggest looking into a wide specific board.

Responded on

It would work because most wide boards have the same waist width as the 157 of this board. Maybe a little toe drag but you wouldn't notice it

Best board i have ever ridden.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This board is good for the whole mountain. You don't have to worry about catching your edge at high speeds. It turns on a dime and glides through powder like its nothing. I highly recommend this board. And it is the back-to-back winner of the Transworld Good Wood Award.

So i definitly want this board, but cant decide what size. Im 5'7" 140lbs.. Ride mostly park but i still would like to take it a little backcountry and haul around as im in colorado... any suggestions? 151 or 153

Best Answer Responded on

You really could go either way, but I'd go with the 153 for a bit more all mountain versatility! Medium flex, full rocker, lightweight... still super maneuverable riding park.

Responded on

For sure thanks! The only reason i was really thinking the 151 was because of the graphics on the bottom but whatever

Is this board pretty catch free? How far do the tips come off the ground?

Responded on

The Ultrafear is a very catch free board. It has flat camber between the inserts and then rocker and flat kick in the tips. I'm not sure on the exact amount of reverse camber. Capita isn't listing that anywhere. My guess somewhere between 2-5mm. The picture gives a very good example of the camber profile. As you can see no contacts points at the tips, this will give you that catch free feel you are looking at.

If you ever want to talk about this board or any other snowboard please don’t hesitate to call or email.

it's not as buttery as a full rocker, but then again it's a lot more stable and poppy. my favorite board i've ever ridden.
