Description

Night of the living shred.

We all know it's only a matter of time before the dead rise from their graves to wreak havoc on society, feasting upon the brains of the living like lumbering, land-dwelling piranhas. Until the inevitable end arrives, the Capita Horrorscope's jib-happy Urban FK profile, bombproof core, and buttery flex will help you tear apart street rails and park features with the voracious appetite of an army of the undead. You can only hope the zombie apocalypse will be half this sexy in real life.

  • Urban FK profile is level between the feet, blending into reverse camber zones that start under the inserts for super-loose, catch-free fun and effortless jibbing
  • Flat Kicks raise the nose and tail up at a steep angle for easy presses and maximum flotation in deep snow
  • Biaxial fiberglass on both sides of the core for a forgiving flex that's easy to manhandle
  • Anchormat tip and tail protection guards against delams and impact damage
  • WDT Jib core uses engineered wood composite for durability and a buttery, smooth flex
  • Radial sidecut for predictable turns both regular and switch
  • Low-maintenance HMC Extruded base uses harder material than traditional extruded bases for extra strength and reliable speed

I bought the 2012/2013 Horrorscope and after 4 months I snapped the board. Top sheet lifted, sidewall cracked and core cracked right through. Seems to be a trend?! Also, no reply from warranty department...

Hey Bodie,

Have you tried e-mailing warranty@c3ww.com? Those guys have helped me out with my bindings in the past and always respond really quick.

I bought the horrorscope last season to only be extremely disappointed in the board and Capita. The board cracked within less than 2 months after buying it, from just spinning off a little roller and landing a bit tail heavy. This is the first and only time I've ever broke a board and the first and only Capita board that I've ever ridden. I took pictures and Capita told me they were going to warranty the board so send it in. I had to pay all the expenses to only have them tell me they were not going to do anything because the core was broken (figured that the core would be covered under warranty like most other snowboard companies do). I tried to get them to help me out and at least help cover some of the shipping costs because they told me to send it in but all they have done is sent multiple copies of their warranty policy. So if you want a board with a weak core which is not covered under their warranty policy at all than the horrorscope is your board. Also was not a fan of this board on jumps, but a good jib board for those 2 months before it broke.

And this review just affirms what I've said above. Though a cracked board can be, and usually is, the fault of the user, the fact remains that Jeff took pictures as evidence and was ASSURED he would have a warrentied board. Not only did Capita fail to honour their word as a provider to a customer invested in their brand and in need, but they didn't even refund him the cost of shipping DESPITE their lack of ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE. Not to mention the fact that they were the ones who told Jeff to send the board in with the promise of a warrenty.
It's stories and reviews like these that I appreciate, and keep me from spending good money on Capita boards. I'm aware of their jibbing capabilities, as even this review acknowledges, yet more often then not, I'm told by liftees and people at my local shop horror stories (no pun intended) about Capita, their shoddy construction (remember a few years back when Capitas all across the continent were delamming?), and even worse customer service.

Why It's Awesome: The Horrorscope FK is one of the best urban and park boards in the game. Featuring pre-loaded reverse camber positioning for expert level jibbers and easy turnin', mindless shreddin' for those intermediate riders who want to expedite the learning curve in the park, the Horrorscope FK is our #1 seller for good reason. Transworld SNOWboarding Magazine gave it the Good Wood nod in 2010, and after showing up in countless video parts and blogs, it became one of the most sought-after boards in snowboarding. The Horrorscope FK takes no effort! Stable at high speeds! Perfect for hangovers! Jib like a madman!

I am looking at getting the Capita Horrorscope...

I am looking at getting the Capita Horrorscope but I am not sure which one to get. I am 6ft tall around 200lbs and have size 12 boot (DC Park low profile) Union flite bindings L/XL. I am not sure if i would be fine with the 157 which has a wait with of 25.6mm or would i be better off with the 155 wide?

Well Im also looking at buying one too, it depends though. Are you looking at doing freestyle? Im 6 ft about 160 and I'm talking to a local shredder that knows his stuff...he owns a snowboard store. But he recommended this board for me and if you are doing freestyle you would actual probably want a 151 wide or 153 wide, these would be the best as theyre not too long or heavy but wide enough to cover your footprint on the boots

I dont understand why the 153 model always look crap against all the other ones, boring.

And this has what to do with the quality of the board line as a whole?

I honestly would rather go for another board, at $359 its not even a tip to tail wood core, its wood composite. I snapped mine last year after about 3 weeks and so did another friend. I'd look at a DWD or Stepchild. can get full tip to tail wood core at around the same $$, i demo'd both and they are great boards.

This board is so fun! It has so much flex in it! It makes learning new tricks so much easier! This board is the best board I have ever ridden on rails and boxes! You can flex this board to sky all day long!
