Because snowboarding should be fun.
Keeping snowboarding's rebellious streak alive, the Capita Defenders of Awesome FK Snowboard is a label-defying board built for popping, spinning, and stomping across the entire mountain. A Good Wood award-winner every year that it's been in existence, this freestyle favorite delivers the perfect blend of pop, stability, and looseness so you can wildcard your way from park to peak.
The Hybrid FK profile combines mellow camber between the inserts for pop, power, and edge hold with flat areas outside the bindings and a tiny bit of rocker just before the tip and tail to give it a forgiving feel and improved float in powder. Dual carbon rods running vertically down the board increase pop and rebound, and KEVLAR-bound sidewalls enhance impact-resistance and prevent breaks. The RFC Sustainable Dual core uses sustainably-harvested poplar to create a lightweight and lively feel and beech inserts running down the center to prevent binding blowouts and increase durability.
Special Blend biax glass provides a smooth, consistent flex, and it's bonded with a new plant-based resin that's less harmful to the environment. Its true twin profile allows unrestricted switch trickery, but don't let that keep you from taking this thing out of the park, because it kills it all over the rest of the mountain too. It's finished off with a new Wax-Infused Enduro sintered base for increased durability and long-lasting speed.

- Q & A
Lots of news being made by capita consistently for what seems like the last decade. I finally got a chance to test it out for myself and the news is definitely not hype. DOA is very responsive but not overly stiff, which I like. I pretty much only rode this on deep days so far and hasn't let me down. I love this sexy beast.
So much fun.
I needed a do all, fun, hard charging, poppy board. A great recommendation from our snowboard buyer and my new go to in the quiver. I tell everyone the graphic is my girlfriend.
Good wood award winner for all 4 years and it is very clear from the first ride. Was skeptical on the graphics at first but the alternative girl is growing on me. Graphics are by size and the 156 is pretty saweet!
Some Good Wood
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
The new DOA is one hell of an all-mountain board designed to rip everything from the bowls to the park.
After being on an old board for too many seasons to admit, I finally pulled the trigger on the new Capita DOA and am so stoked that I did! The Hybrid profile (mostly camber with some flat to rocker toward the tip and tail) provides a poppy and playful feel while still ripping through that pow pow.
I got out to Mammoth Mountain for opening weekend and although I was a little reluctant to bust out a brand new board for the first days - I am so glad I did.
If you don't know the back story of the Mothership, then hit me up and I'll tell you all about the most sustainable and environmentally conscious snowboard manufacturing facility in the world.
Looking to piece the setup together? I'll recommend a perfect pair of bindings and boots to go along with this board. I can't promise I won't geek out about all the cool aspects on this board...
Looking to tweak the snowboard get up or wanting to talk shop about the 16-17 season - I'll get you dialed in to push your limits and have the best season of your life.
Sick all mtn board
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
This is my goto for riding outside of pow days. Fun to rip the entire mtn and still has enough flex to play around on.
