Chorus deserves serious props. Just about every year this Campagnolo line moves closer to Record. This year, Campagnolo has taken both aesthetic and mechanical steps to move their Chorus 11 Rear Derailleur in that direction.
The graphics are bigger and bolder. But what more people will notice is the black anodizing of the aluminum derailleur parts. They also might confuse the aluminum outer pulley plate for carbon-fiber, thanks to the relieved design as well as the black anodizing. As with the Super-Record and Record parts, there's a new hard anodized aluminum alloy fixing bolt. This time it's one-piece, but it's replacing a steel part for some weight savings. Between the new pulley cages and fastener, this derailleur is a claimed 6g lighter than the previous iteration.
The Campagnolo Chorus 11 Rear Derailleur shares the same Ultra Shift parallelogram with the rest of the Ultra Shift derailleurs. As a result, they're cross-compatible with the other lines and will shift perfectly with any Campagnolo 11-speed lever. The maximum cog size is 29 teeth. The derailleur comes with a Carbon-Fiber outer parallelogram plate and Black anodized aluminum pieces. The pulleys are made of the same soft compound you'll find on Super-Record and Record pulleys, only these run on brass bushings. Please Note: The fixing bolt takes a Torx T25 driver rather than the traditional 5mm hex wrench.
