X4 Evo Backpack

CAMP gave the X4 Evo Backpack both top and back panel access to reduce the chance of a stress-induced cussing bout that occurs when you spend 15 minutes looking for a glove. The Xpress diagonal ski carry system allows you to remove your skis from this pack without removing the pack from your back. At the top of a ridge, you barely have to pause to step into your skis and drop into the freshies below. CAMP designed every feature on this bag with fast-moving alpine climbing and ski mountaineering in mind.

Bottom Line: Packs should carry your gear, not hide it from you.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

United's policy is 9 x 14 x 22 inches. It's the same for pretty much every airline. You should be good to go.

Great back for BC Skiing

Use this for a hut-to-hut trip in the Swiss Alps. Plenty of space for all of my stuff. The waterproof hip pocket is perfect for a camera, some sunscreen, and some chapstick. The material for the backpack is pretty rigid so it won't stretch out much... fortunately, it's big enough you won't need too much stretch. The sidepockets are the only complaint I have: where the elastic top-band meets the mesh of the pocket, mine is all ripped out. I'll have to take it somewhere to get it sewn back together well.

Is CAMP USA a "budget" brand?

Absolutely not. Camp USA is the latest metamorphosis of an older European company. In the past, they were partnered with the climbing/expedition company Salewa of Italy, if you can remember that. Very high quality gear.
