The CAMP Micro Ice Tool's compact, lightweight design makes it a great choice for a third tool on technical ice climbs or an ice axe for ski mountaineering. If you have ever snapped a pick twenty feet above a manky screw you placed in slush, you can appreciate the absolute necessity of a third tool right close at hand. These small (45cm) technical tools come with either hammer or adze and small shafts that fit narrow hands very well. The CAMP Micro Tools also go well on that alpine rock route with two pitches of steep snow.
Bottom Line: The CAMP Micro Tools provides lightweight, low-profile insurance in the mountains.
