Description

No more snag at the crag.

The CAMP HMS Bet Screw Gate Carabiner's keylock gate eliminates the standard snag-on-everything notch that you find on most carabiners. Thanks to the smooth nose profile, this CAMP carabiner slides smoothly on and off your rope, belay device, anchor, or whatever else you need to clip into. CAMP stuck with a simple, functional, and time-test screw-gate design for the HMS Bet Carabiner, so you can stick with what you know and never have surprises on the rock.

BIG BASKET

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

this carabiner has a nice large basket. The surface is super smooth and wide. This reduces overall rope friction which is fantastic. I love this biner. The one flaw the screwgate is soft and dents or scratches against rock easily. good placement prevents this easily .

On a picture you can see that strength of this carabiner is 21/9/6 kN, while in description is 24/8/8 kN!?

Solid and big basket

I've been using two of these for a few years now and they have been great companions in anchor building and belaying. It has a surprisingly large basket that is maybe only surpassed by something like the omega pacific jake lockers. The rounded and relatively symmetrical shape of the basket is nice for accommodating multiple cords and slings without them all bunching up into one corner like on a more pronounced D shaped carabiner. The locking sleeve isn't quite as smooth as a petzl or DMM but it's been trouble free and easy to use. It comes with my personal recommendation.
