Love this!!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought this for our annual week long camping trip and we have put it through the wringer. We used this for almost every meal and kept it over a low fire for hot water, etc. Great for tailgating or a camping trip however it is a little heavy so wouldn't be ideal for a hiking adventure!

Well Built

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

If you are big on cooking over an open flame like I, this is great! I've never been fond of using ones at campsites due to being to tall or put through so much use its at a bad angle so everything slides/rolls off. This thing is great. Well built, heavy duty and packs/folds up perfectly for storage.

Best Investment EVER!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

If you tend to do a lot of your cooking over the fire while camping you absolutely NEED one of these. I personally found the 16x24 size large enough for any cooking I will be doing, but if you plan to head out with a huge group you may want to opt for the larger size. This item is well made, very sturdy, affordable, and perfect for any car camping trip.

Handy

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Packs well, multifunctional, and it's just handy! The grate folds flat to no more than an 2 inches thick making it easy to pack and haul around. Cook on it, eat on it, wash the dishes on it, hell play cards on it!

Can't wait to use it more!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Only cooked some chicken thighs so far on one camp out, but man, get some logs on your coals for some smokey flavor and bam. This thing will live in the camp kitchen from now on.

Essential for car camping

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had one of these for the past couple of years and they are tough, although it won't hold up if a Crown Vic drives over it.. Haha. Best thing ever for car camping. I once had an Eagle Scout come camping with me and he told Me he had never cooked over an open fire! I laughed and continued to cook my steak.
Ive cooked everything on this from chicken to oysters, you simply can't beat it!

Best Grill Ever!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This grill is awesome. It's really easy to set up and it's pretty sturdy. It folds up to be relatively flat so it doesn't take up a lot space.

Heavy..duty

If you camp - even car camp - you need this. We've used it several times and love it. It is heavy. Would not want to backpack with this baby!

Sweet piece of gear, I cant believe it took me this long to get one!

Such a great idea and I'll always toss this in the back of the car for any car camping trip.

Super easy set up, would take a grill brush with you to clean it afterwards and put it back in the box for easy storage and transport.

Must Have!

I use this instead of my stove whenever possible. The food tastes so much better over a fire, eh? Can fit quite a bit of food on it and it's a solid piece of gear.

Pretty fantastic.

I purchased the larger three foot variety and found that it worked great set over a National Forest Service fire ring. Need to get the fire down pretty low to do the grilling, it can be difficult to be attentive enough when it's dark out and several beverages have been enjoyed. It gets hot. Highly recommend this beauty.

Favorite Piece of Cooking Gear

This thing is unreal for car camping. Bringing a grill and propane/gas is a pain in the ass and you are going to be building a fire anyways, so why not just throw this thing on top!? First, food over a fire tastes better! Also, its a cinch to clean. I just let it sit over the fire until all the food bits burn off then a few scrapes with a grill brush and you are ready for the next car camping adventure.

Super convenient

Pretty ingenious idea. I mean, why set up a stove if you can just cook over the campfire you are kicking it at anyway? We cooked burgers, brats, dogs, and steak on this already and it works great. Easy simple idea.

Cleaning it can be a bit tedious and I recommend keeping the box it came in so you don't have a greasy metal plate smearing on everything. It is heavy so just sticking it in a garbage bag doesn't work well as it can easily tear through the sides.
