Watch the tube and mouthpiece

By:

Keeps water from freezing down to about 20 degrees, but you have to really watch the tube and mouthpiece. You can blow the water back into the bag to keep the tube from freezing, but I also put a piece of 1/2 inch foam pipe insulation around the tube. Looks geeky, but it works in the White Mountains of NH down to about 10 below -- even if you forget to blow the water back into the bag. If mouthpiece freezes, you can thaw it in your mouth. Hydration is so important in the winter, that I use this in addition to a backup water bottle.

..Are you sure? The model you have in stock is green, yet the 2010 models on the Camelbak website are black/red, or all red.

Camelbak Zoid

By:
October 21, 2009

Bought one off SAC a few years ago for skiing. Keeps the water in a liquid state as advertised. The pack is pretty thin, and fits easily under my jacket. Straps are comfortable and have plenty of room. I'm 6', 230 and it fits fine. The pocket on mine is different from the current version, and does not hold much. Maybe keys, a wallet and an energy bar. Plenty of pockets in my jacket, so not an issue for me.
