The perceived flow will depend more upon the vertical distance from the mouth piece to the reservoir than it will on the hose length.
If the reservoir is on a significantly lower plane than the bite valve it will take a significant amount of "sucking" power to get the fluid up the hose. Where as if the two are on the same plane drinking should be nearly effortless regardless of the length of the hose.

it makes a good extender or replacement tube. my tubes get moldy long before the hydration bladder, so this is the best way to replace the tube. just more...
