This is perfect for all weather and conditions. The wife and I took this out on a full day of hiking and it never ran out of liquid. We were in 30? weather and, as advertised, it didn't freeze and stayed cold.

Keep in mind, as another reviewer posted, the zipper system is something you have to get used to but once you do you can easily manage it. PLUS, it holds other items like knives, clothing, gloves, etc., and it didn't cause any extra strain on our backs. In fact, my wife said it was the most comfortable backpack she had ever worn while on the hike.

Don't hesitate on this one and get it.

I load this thing up every other day at dawn for a kick and glide trek to noon before the snow gets sticky. The size and capacity are perfect. The zip sheath and insulated tube keep freezing a non issue. The only knock I have on the pack is the three way zipper system. I like how easy it makes loading when the pack is unzipped, but because of the nature of how the three zippers meet, I don't like how the pack is never really closed - that kinda defeats the point of a zipper and I'm a little weary of how dry everything will be if I hit sleet. It hasn't been an issue so far, but I'm not going to bother using this as a quick hike pack in the rain months.

Great pack - just change the zip system and they get another star.

This pack is perfect for snowboarding or any winter trekking, I can fit an extra pair of gloves, socks, goggles, snacks etc... The insulated tube keeps it from freezing. The only thing I have a problem with is the velcro that locks the zipper from unzipping, after extensive use the velcro will start peeling off from the pack. If you end up hitting a slushy day, the pack is horrible at keeping things dry. I would recommend this pack if your just using it for a day trip to the slopes with perfect weather conditions.
