Dehydration is your worst enemy!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Its super important to be drinking water through out the day when you are in dry areas like ski resorts. This hydration system is fairly well insulated, but if the temp drops below 15 degrees you'll still want to blow the excess water in the tube back into the bladder so it doesn't freeze. The new bladder systems are easy to fill and you can do it without getting water every where unlike older bladder systems. Since the hole system is removable you can take the bladder out and throw it in your summer pack when the season ends or loan it to a friend if they need one for a hike. The pack itself can be used to carry a board or skis fairly easily. Its not specifically designed for it so intensive use will cause damage but for short hikes tot the top of peaks or into the back country it will be the job. The pack is large enough to fit your lunch and any excess layers you may need to shed during the day.

First time using my pack in the snow! It was spacious enough for everything I needed, but still slim enough to stay on my back on the chairlift. Love it!

Drink Water!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

For every outdoor enthusiast, hydration is essential. Whether you're fly fishing in Alaska, climbing in California, or skiing in Utah, you either hydrate or die.

For my hydration needs, I use the CamelBak Snoblast. This bag is solid. If my friend told me that, I would believe him and pick one up. Since we aren't friends yet, let me get a little more detailed.

Material: Quality construction. Using it every day for over a month I haven't noticed a single rip, tear or scratch. Zippers zip with ease, clips clip without issue, and everything else is on par with the quality expected from CamelBak gear.

Fit: One size fits most. The strap adjustments is very broad, so you should be able to find the right fit just for you. I bought one as a gift for my fiance as well and she is able to adjust it to her liking with ease.

Features: Two pockets on the lid, one on both the outside as well as the inside. The outside pocket is really convenient for quick access to snacks or a first aid kit, while the interior pocket is clutch for keeping your keys and cell phone in a safe place while mobbing down the hill or trudging through the river. There is also an interior pocket that fits a smaller thermos perfectly, for those days that you want some hot chocolate while creeping up the hill on the lift. The expandable pocket cargo pocket is awesome for allowing more space when you need to shed layers or bring more snacks for the all day hikes. The center of the bag unzips as well so that you can ensure perfect fitment for all of your extras you are bringing with you. The insulated bladder and line is perfect. I recently went snowshoeing as well as skiing with some friends and all of their hydration systems froze on them, while mine stayed drinkable and perfect temperature.

Bottom line is this: This pack allows you to hydrate, as well as bring some extra layers as well as snacks. If you want a sweet day pack that won't break the bank, get a SnoBlast.

Feel free to contact me with any questions or to place an order. I would be happy to provide you with a personalized experience here at Backcounty!

The description on camelbak website says it should hold snowboard or snowshoes, have you tried using that feature? I was hoping to purchase this bag for that feature

I have yet to try that myself, but I feel as if you would be able to attach a snowboard or snowshoes on the outside without any issue.

Snoblast are funs.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have the first-gen version of this pack and it's great. I get dehydrated rather easily when I ski, so I wanted this model. I use it to ski with, take camping, travelling, and just around town. The insulated bladder sleeve is nice, and the insulated backpack strap for the nozzle is a must in the teens and below. This no-frills pack is just what I wanted. However, it isn't really water-resistant, which isn't convenient for spring or east-coast skiing, so four stars for that. I'm actually wearing the pack in my profile picture.

GREAT PACK!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I got this pack after returning the Dakine Heli pack. I love how the front of the pack has three different zippers to open the big compartment as well as a hidden hood zipper from the outside to make grabbing a snack while on the slopes easy.

I really love this pack!
They even have a back zipper compartment with the camelbak hydration set. Great for the slopes and daily use!
