Tired of using a complicated rubberband/clothesline/shoehorn combination to keep your reservoir hanging open to dry? Grab CamelBak's Reservoir Dryer hanger and keep it simple. The top of the hanger, well, hangs, and the bottom keeps the bladder open so it can dry out thoroughly.

Bottom Line: Keep your water bladder dry between uses with CamelBak's Reservoir Dryer.

Works Great, but ...

This hanging dryer works as described. It does keep the bladder open, and holds it open well, but I only have one issue with it. Even after dumping out what ever water was left in the bladder, once it hangs, there is still a pool of water that collects in the lip. That takes forever to evaporate. I have used a paper towel or something to soak it up, and that seems to help. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of that little problem. I have been using this hanger for a year or so now, and it hasn't damaged the bladder at all and seems to prolong the bladder's life by reducing the number of times you have to really clean it.

Thanks for the photo! I bought this a while ago and couldn't remember how to fit it in the bladder. I have the older model that looks like a weird, elongated hanger. I still prefer that one over this dryer. This one seems to not hold the bladder open as much so not as much air gets in to dry. Wish they still had the older model.

Pricey but works

It helps air dry your bladder to prevent mold. Sure you could use a metal hanger so something else but that could damage your bladder or leave contaminants in it. Buy this as a kit and save money.

Beer cans are cheaper and more fun.

The biggest drawback of the soft CamelBak reservoirs is draining them dry. With Platypus reservoirs, you simply blow them up a bit by mouth and let them drain and dry. CamelBak's soft material won't allow that. Now, this bit of twelve-dollar plastic does work as advertised, but rather than spend money on what probably cost eleven cents to manufacture in China, I use a twelve-ounce empty Coors can, although most other brands works just as well. Simply slip the empty can through the filler hole, hang the entire unit upside down to drain and dry and you're done. If you're the fastidious type, you may want to rearrange the can once or twice to drain any water that was trapped between Coors and CamelBak. On sale, Coors costs about $3.99 for a sixer. That's six dry-outs or, if you're like me, one dry-out and a nice buzz. Figure out what your priorities are.

There are a few problem using a Coors can to dry out your camelback bladder. First... Coors cans contain a liquid that is absolutely disgusting and in order to get it out, you must drink it. I suggest using a PBR can or even a fine Fort Collins beer bottle will work. The second problem is when you do use a PBR can, paople have a tendancy to try and fit all the beers they drink inside the bladder. This is not needed! One will do. Happy hiking

Expensive, but works

Its overpriced, but does what its suppose to do. I don't get any mold using this. I just wish my camelbak didn't make the water taste like plastic. I've tried everything. I'm going back to bottles.

not so impressed

I agree with oregonguy, not so much about the beer can (maybe a margarita glass!), but about the fact that there are better options than this. instructions don't exist about exactly how to position the inflater piece to keep the inner bladder walls from contacting and holding moisture. the hanger is handy, though i'll probably combine my old method, also used by ripplespirit, of inserting the drinking tube inside the bladder along with this equipment.

Keep it clean!

If you are like me, and you are constantly cleaning you hydration reservoir, then this is a must! You just slide it in the opening, hang it to dry and come back to it later.

This works well to dry out your bladder and keep it clean. You can always just stick the tube into the bladder to keep it open and hang it by the hook. This is definitely easier though.
