Need the hydration but not the pack? Enter the Camelbak Men’s Racebak Hydration Jersey. This sleeveless jersey features an integrated reservoir and an insulated drinking tube for easy hydration during adventure races, trail runs, or century rides. The flat seams eliminate chafing, and the Air Mesh insulated back panel simultaneously cools your back and insulates your water. The streamlined design fits under your cycling jersey or lightweight fleece.

Bottom Line: Hydration on the move, without the pack.

Very interesting, I would say it wouldn't work though. As wetsuits are skin tight, it would just tend to push/pinch the water up, possibly creating a pressure point for you. You could try it, if it ends up being too complicated, just return it or use it for running or biking or something.

It is designed pretty much for your needs. Personally I feel that it limits your options overall (read: lack of storage for a shell), but does cut back on weight and drops the hassle of a pack moving around on your back.

Had a Tailor sew three pockets on the back. Have a 100k ride this weekend and will try it out and let you know. Weather in Az starting to get hot so I hope this works as I think it will.

They would seel more if they had pockets in back for Gu , Spare tube etc.

It's not a jersey, it's a base layer shirt. I would not buy it if they put pockets on it.

This camelbak is recommended for two hours of exercise. If you're canoeing for 6 hours, you'll need to keep refilling this 3 times. Camelbaks are handy for carrying the water, but not very efficient when it comes to refilling the bladder.

Tony,
I'm an avid canoe racer and prefer to secure a bottle inside the boat unless I'm getting in and out a lot like in adventure racing. But then I'll wear something like this AND secure a bottle in the boat.

I'm sure that it would probably work. However, this system is really for people who are running (or on a bike), to make it easier to carry and access water. If I were in a canoe, I would probably rather have my water in the canoe, rather than having to wear it (unless it were a non-stop race, where this system could have some advantages).

i have a 3L camelbak and it doesn't slosh... you need to remove all the air out of the bladder after filling it up. i just turn mine upside down and gently squeeze the air out until water comes out the mouth-piece

I mountain bike race with one here in the Northwest and find that using the Raceback is cooler than wearing a pack, especially when I pre-freeze half of the bladder full of water. ( I fill it up half way, blow it up with air, lay it flat in the freezer so the hole to the tube is clear of the water ) Then fill it the rest of the way and have cool water and cool back.

I prefer to avoid wearing anything besides clothing on my back when I'm riding. Water bottles are fine and the water bottle carrier also carries a coffee cup nicely as well.
