    Ready for the long haul.

The Camelbak Women's L.U.X.E. Hydration Pack is Camelbak's hot weather champ, with special cushioned pods that hold the pack away from your skin. The huge three-liter reservoir carries enough water for three or more hours in the saddle. If you're planning a long ride, you'll need a lot of water. The L.U.X.E. NV can carry what you need.

The L.U.X.E. NV is also equipped with a women-specific harness and NV back panel design. This means more comfort in an ergonomically correct fit, essential when you're on your bike for a couple hours or more. The NV back panel uses articulating pods that hold the pack away from your back to allow air to flow freely between the pack and your skin. A removable rain cover keeps the contents of your pack safe in case of a sudden unexpected squall. Stretch overflow storage, a media pocket, a bike tool-specific pocket, and convenient waist belt pockets make for easy organization and put your things right where you need them so you can get to them in a hurry.

    • NV back panel with with articulating pods that keep the back panel from resting against your back to allow more cooling airflow
    • Women-specific harness with 3D mesh for breathability and ventilation
    • Velvetex harness lining is ultrasoft and comfortable against the skin
    • Shorter torso length for a woman's specific body shape, also sits above jersey pockets

    • Tough, lightweight 70D and 140D Dobby fabric with 1000mm water-resistant polyurethane treatment
    • Removable rain cover to weatherproof the pack
    • New Antidote reservoir includes a lightweight, quick-seal cap, folding arms on the port to speed drying, and baffles in the body that allow the reservoir to maintain a lower profile when full
    • New Quick Link system in reservoir allows you to quickly snap off the tube for cleaning and easily attach accessories like filters, flow meters, and insulated tubes
    • HydroGuard anti-microbial technology inhibits bacterial growth on reservoir and tube surfaces
    • Ergo Hydrolock shut-off valve allows you to control water flow and prevents leaks
    • Four-point compression keeps the pack as small as possible to avoid shifting around or snagging on branches or other trail features
    • Dual back pockets for storage and organization

    • Stretch overflow pockets for extra gear

What do you think about this product?

    Have questions about this product?

    Goldilocks would have hated it...

    • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Too big to be light, to small to have big features? Hmm…

I purchased this last week for my fiancee's first 14'er. I was looking for something with around 500cu/in of space, 3L of hydration - and most important - a decent hip belt to help take weight off the shoulders.

Well, that last part is where things fell apart - weight management. With 3L of water, a days worth of snacks, etc - it's a large enough pack for weight to become an issue - and the total lack of adjustments makes it difficult to adjust fit to the user, and/or make adjustments throughout the day to shift weight around.

I know this pack wasn't designed for this exact use, so I'm going to upgrade it from my originally intended 3 stars, up to 4 stars. That said - I've become a pretty firm believer that:

    1) always buy a hydration back with 3L of capacity (you can always under fill)

    2) when selecting your new 3L hydration pack, either get (nearly) the smallest available (just enough room for a few bars and bike tools, etc) or something closer to 1000+ cu/in (16-20L) with a *proper* hip belt.

In the end, you can always under-fill a bigger pack, but you can't wish-away shoulder pain on the trail :(

I'm going to think it over for a day or two… but it's likely we'll (begrudgingly) swap this out for something more robust. Thanks in advance to Backcountry for the amazing CS :)

    girlfriend loves it

    • Familiarity:I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

bought it for my girlfriend. she loves it. great fit, comfortable. the back panel breathes really well. go with the 3L bladder - you can always fill it partway if you don't want the weight. (I don't see why you'd ever buy a 1-2 L bladder.)
