The CamelBak Women’s L.U.X.E. Hydration Pack 3L fits a woman’s body so you don’t feel like you borrowed your boyfriend’s big lumbering daypack again. The L.U.X.E. Pack’s short torso and fuzzy-soft straps contour your body’s curves, and the chest strap fits high over the bustline so your chest isn’t squished as you suck air on a 2,000-foot mountain bike climb. A large three-liter capacity gives you a long day’s worth of water in a durable water reservoir, and a full 600 cubic inches of storage capacity lets you bring extra layers and lunch.
Bottom Line: A woman-specific pack for your biggest days on the trails.
A pretty spectacular light and fast day pack. Great compartments for the basics, and lots of hydration (3 liters), with excellent contouring and fit for women. It is also extremely durable..held up well in chimney climbs, and general climbing thrashing in tight corners. It has great breathability in its padding system, and excellent straps. Nice small zipped key pocket off the top to keep your small, important items. Easy to use, quick access with good internal sleeves, and an all around excellent on the go pack.
This pack can hold a lot and I was afraid I wouldn't like carrying it. (I usually avoid carrying anything more than a Camelback designed for bikeriders--holding only water, a candy bar and a jacket that fits under the bungee cord. No room for lunch in those.) But this pack will take care of my camera and binoculars should it rain, a lunch to take on the trail and feels like nothing on my back. Also it has removable straps at waist and chest so it can be stripped down. I really like everything about my new pack.

I can't speak for this exact pack but I wore one very similar to it in the mens style and they were ok. Nothing like a heavily padded strap but still not uncomfortable.
Great pack, has enough room for extra layers, some lunch and anything else you need for a long day hike. Fit is comfortable, does not have any hot spots like I have found with other packs.
finally a pack that is big enough to hold enough water for a full day ride plus extra layers and food. I bought this after my other pack left me thirsty and cold on a full day ride because I didn't have room to pack the extra clothes and water. I got the berry/
RE: CamelBak LUKE Hydration for women - what type of plastic is used ie BPA free? and safe to leave water in without plastic leaching? How do you clean the container/drinking straw? Thanks Mel
Camelbak is fiercely anti-BPA. The Omega hydrotanium bladder is made from rubberized polyurethane. It and the tubing are coated with an EPA registered silver-based antimicrobial that inhibits bacterial growth, although it's no substitute for properly treating contaminated water from the source. No chemicals will leach into your water, and there's no discernible taste or odor from the material. Camelbak makes a cleaning kit and treatment tablets. Here's the cleaning instructions from their website- Cleaning and Maintenance
No other hydration company places as much of an emphasis on keeping your reservoir clean as we do. We offer the following guidelines for taking care of your CamelBak:
1. Fill reservoir with warm water and mild soap.
2. Clean with Reservoir Brush and Tube Brush.
3. Re-fill reservoir with 1 L of water.
4. Add 1 Cleaning Tablet
5. Shake reservoir until tablet is dissolved.
6. Let stand 5 minutes.
7. Remove water from reservoir.
8. Rinse reservoir thoroughly.
9. Re-fill for drinking or hang dry completely before storage.
By following these disinfecting guidelines you can reduce common micro-organisms and build-up over 99.99%. In an emergency, you can also add a tablespoon of bleach after step 3. Be sure to rinse thoroughly, however.
While it isn't going to hold everything I hoped it would for an international trip (taking it in lieu of a regular purse)i think it does a great job. I like the covered straps and that you can remove some of the extra ones if you don't want them. The water stayed cool almost the whole day in the sun and nothing got squished.
loading up the Luxe for a long day of climbing in the Black Canyon, CO- perfect size for the bare necessities and weight considerations for a day on the wall.
This pack is fantastic. I originally bought it for the Little Red ride to carry a first aid kit, tube, pump, raincoat, energy bars as well as my phone, keys and wallet. It had more than enough room for all of that. I'm going to get a smaller one in the future for road biking though because there's a lot of excess space. I also use this for hiking with my kids. It's perfect size for this. I can carry a few diapers, wipes, plastic bags in it perfect. Love all the little pockets and stash areas.
I love this pack. It is big enough to carry the things I need for a day out but still small enough to carry around all day. I fits well and holds on thight for bumpy bike rides. Very handy to have.
This is a great bag for a day of cycling or hiking. Holds snacks, a sandwich, camera, gloves, hat, wallet, phone, etc; and I can stuff my not-particularly-small fleece in the outer pocket. It's also very comfortable -- I forget I'm wearing it.
It's my first Camelbak, so I think it's good! The only thing I noticed was that when I jumped over stuff it slid up my back and startled me. I have to work on the tightness of the straps.
While I really like the look and fit of my new L.U.X.E. pack, I am very impressed with it's capacity. It held 4 sandwiches, 2 energy bars, sunscreen, bugspray, phone & camera. It was extremely comfortable during my 17 mile up and back to Half Dome. My only complaint is a slight leak (might have been because of overfilling) and one broken zipper pull that had only been used twice.
This Camelbak is a perfect size for a day's ride. Holds plenty of water. Has a large and medium zipper pocket for extra clothes, food, bike tools. Small pocket up top for your music player or keys/essentials. Fits very comfortably while riding. I love it.
