Your hike or bike ride will only take an hour or so, but you don’t want to hand-carry a water bottle, your point-and-shoot, and MP3. Fill the CamelBak FlashFlo Lumber Pack’s 1.3-liter water reservoir and stash keys and camera in the outer pockets. Clip the breathable mesh waist-belt in front and cinch the side compression straps down so this lumbar pack won’t bounce up and down with each step or bump in the road.

Bottom Line: When you need both hands for balance (the trailhead map left out the more difficult details of the hike), you’ll be glad you have the lumbar.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

Not for sports. For walking.

This pack is really not for sports. The tube clip is cheesy and unclips on its own. The pack itself fits well and holds on tight during mountain biking bumps and jumps, it's just the way the tubing is set up on the pack that sucks. The original Go-Be had a sturdy clip for the tube mounted on the waist where you clip the pack together. It was awesome. Camelbak blew it with this design.

Great for short hikes!

This is the perfect little pack for 3 to 5 mile hikes. Water stays cold and enough for me and my dog. Plus it has room for my small binoculars and a snack bar or whatever other small items you might want to have with you.

I am in the same situation. I can't find the same bladder, though, even on the Camelbak website. Any luck?

You're going to have to get it from Camelbak, Backcountry doesn't stock it.

This is a great lite pack. It has compression straps so it doesn't bounce as much after you put snacks or what ever else in the storage compartment. I am 6'2" and i have no problem with the hose reaching my mouth.

Very well designed, VERY COMFORTABLE to wear , and pockets come in handy. Great for shorter hikes and runs. The only small negative is that it is a little awkward to fill - no big deal though. Glad I bought it.
