excellent value

This is the only lumbar pack I will use, perfect for anything under two hours, unless the heat is crazy. The bottle that comes with this is awesome, it's always open, but will not leak, it will not dispense until you want it to. The gel flasks are a nice addition, I could see myself using them for longer races, but so far have used the pockets for them perfectly for bars(keep thinking they would fall out, but haven't yet, even after jumping over stumps, if you start with a frozen bar, there's no way it will melt, I may even try a snickers bar sometime soon, mmmmm. The pouch in front will hold several stinger waffles, or an iphone, actually both, my 4g with iskin revo case fits, with room for a clif or something like that. There's a loop for keys, too, should you need.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Got this on Bonktown one day for 20 bucks, and it was worth it. Pack does exactly what the description says. The bottle is good quality and stays put, and the pocket holds keys, phone ipod, etc. Good for a 10K or a couple hours of light hiking. Pack will shift a little when running for a while or fairly hard, but for the most part stays in place once cinched down. If you need something just to carry a bottle and a couple of small items this is absolutely perfect. Got to say though the gel flask pockets are a little awkward, and I don't use the gel flasks at all, but seems like they might be difficult to get out on the move. I think they are made that way to keep the pack light and small.

I have a 44" waist. Will this fit me?

Great Lumbar Pack

I haven't owned any other lumbar hydration packs but I'm very happy with this one. I do very technical trail running so I'm shaking this thing like crazy and it keeps the bottle secure and minimizes bounce while remaining very comfortable. I'm amazed at how easy it is to get the bottle in and out of the holder behind your back while still keeping it secure. The front pocket is just the right size for keys and a few dog treats when I run with my dog and it's great that the pocket is in the front so access is easy. The straps have velcro tabs to hold down any excess so everything is tight to your body. The gel flasks are interesting not sure if I'll ever use them I'm no ultra runner or anything. The bottle is not insulated like the description says, some insulation is provided by the pack itself but the holder is standard bike bottle size so if you want to get an insulated bottle it'll fit fine.

I live in central Texas and regularly run in 100+ degree heat. This pack keeps me and my dog hydrated allowing me to run longer and more often. Overall great product, even better if you can get it on SAC like I did.
