You can do without, but why?

Yeah sure you can clean the inside of the reservoir if you have tiny hands, and with a string and cloth and time you can clean the tube...but for ten bucks, the Camelbak cleaning brush kit makes this stuff a snap!

Seriously, if you are doing this cleaning any other way, do yourself a favor and drop ten on this kit. With it, you're looking at a more thorough clean than you've ever had, and it won't take more than 2 minutes.

Helpful for getting out the funk

this has helped a lot with getting the haader to reach areas. Only wish was that this also came with a hanger to help dry out the inside but overall im happy i bought it.

Best cleaner

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

Before this, i had to go through some pretty convoluted ways to clean my CamelBak bladder and tube. Now, it is a snap. As one reviewer said, just the tube brush makes this kit worth it, however, all the other stuff it brings makes it a great product.

The tube-brush makes it worth it.

The large brush for the bladder works but I prefer a sponge. The tube-brush, however, is well worth the $9.95! I use it for the bite-valve as well. If you don't leave your bladder and/or tube wet for more than a couple days you shouldn't have to really do more than rinse and dry it. If it does become a bit slimy, this kit and some hot, soapy water will get it clean.

The tube brush is the gem.

The tube brush is what you need. The tablets and then the tube brush. Clean as a whistle.

I have seen some people with the most disgusting hydration bladders and drinking tubes. There is no excuse for it with how simple it is to clean them.

Skinny long brush: Necessary.

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

If you're like me, you might question the need for this brush kit. Really, the bigger brush wasn't super necessary, but that tiny long brush? Very necessary. I only ever put water in my Camelbak, but the funk still grew inside the hose/tube. Yes, the skinny brush is not the length of the entire tube. But the tube disconnects from the bladder and the mouth piece and you should do that to clean it thoroughly anyway. Use the brush from both ends of the tube and you're golden. Just try not to gag when you pull that brush out of the tube for the first time. The results may surprise you. Now that I know what can hide in there, I clean it out more often.

A much needed kit.

Like others wrote, I also waited a long time to buy this kit and finally broke down when it went on sale. However, the kit is a must in order to keep the gear clean. One recommendation is to put the hydration pack in the freezer until the next use. This will ensure that everything stays free of fungi/bacteria until the next use.
